Axis impulse 1 May/Jun 43 continued rain in arctic/

German attack in the Caucasus rolled a net 14, Russian Inf lost and German Div, MechDiv and Rumanian Inf also lost and the rest of attackers disorganized.
It is beginning to look like the German armies in Russia are no longer sufficient to do more than hold in Siberia and the Caucasus. Much of the German reinforcements re now having to go to the west.

Japan managed to take out Chungking, this now makes the Chinese builds non existent although they still hold Kunming.

The air to air combat above resulted in 2Italian NAVs downed and 1 CW CVP lost in the first round, then they did not find again.

In the land attack phase the US using an O-chit with McArthur in Bordeaux attacked one Vichy border hex and the CW attacked the next hex to the east as shown on the map.

The US lost a Div and the CW suffered all disorganized but the Pyrenees were breached, Now we are awaiting the German response.

Axis impulse 2 May/Jun 43 ( impulse # 4 ) Fine everywhere

Germany takes Ulyanovsk at a cost of an Engr and 4 units disorganized. Russia lost 2 Inf Moving in to attack in the Caucasus and closing in on the alliedorces in southwestern France.

Finding that the armies in Siberia and Caucasus are not strong enough to press forward forcefully. A lot of the new strong units are in France now.

Germany kills a Russian Inf in Siberia NW Kazan and takes 2 mountain hexes in the Caucasus knocking out 2 Russian Inf but at a cost 3 cost of German units.the state of the German armies in Russia is beginning to be precarious, they can hold but can no longer afford losses. They a re quite strong in France though.

Allies impulse 4 May/Jun 43 ( impulse # 7 ) Fine everywhere

Allies take a land action and manage to knock out the remaining 2 Vichy units on the northern slopes of the Pyrenees at a cost of a CW Mot and several units disorganized.
The Germans have responded by sending their reinforcements to France rather than far away Siberia and Caucasus giving the Russians a little time to beef up their forces.

The German lines in Siberia, no longer strong enough to continue attacking. It is time to be defensive and soon start withdrawing from the increasing Russian strength there. It is too far from Germany for easy reinforcements that also are needed in France.

Axis impulse 1 July/August 43 ( impulse # 1 ) Fine except N Monsoon storm

Japan takes out Tianshui and killing Mao who was hiding there. Japan lost A Terr and a Div and suffered 4 units disorganized.

Germany took another hex in the Caucasus mountains knocking out a Russian Inf. It is doubtful that much further progress towards Tiflis can be made and Siberia is a stalemate now.

Holding the river line against the Allies in southern France.

Allies impulse 1 July/August 43 ( impulse # 2 ) Fine except N Monsoon storm

US and CW take naval.

US Sub attacks in Bismarck sea fail. More newly arrived Carriers and BB's sail for Honolulu. Land and air units are transported to Europe.

CW also ships troops to sea and the B Biscay is now teeming with ships and loaded Transports and Amph ships.

Us and CW grounds strike German strong units in South France near the Pyrenees, about half succeed.

There could be an invasion of France in the near future, German troops in France are mostly in the south and will have to weaken their positions there to guard against invasion threats
