SPM v. 0.7.12 is now available

Post by Nacho84 »

Hello all,

The latest update for SPM is now available. Just like all the updates we have been releasing since v. 0.7.9, the new update is available for you to download directly from the Matrix FTP: ftp://beta.matrixgames.com . When prompted, please specify the following username and password: SPMBetaTester/SpmBeta1114. I strongly recommend you to download the file using filezilla.

Inside the FTP you will find an installer file named SPM-Windows-Slitherine-0-7-12.exe, just download it and run it. Notice that you need to have your installation updated to at least SPM v. 0.7.8 first in order for it to work properly. If you didn't install any update from 0.7.9 onwards, don't worry, since 0.7.12 is a comprehensive patch and already includes all those changes, but please make sure you have updated to 0.7.8 first.

About the update itself, we have fixed a few glitches, added a better implementation of the 'Public Affairs Office', implemented the Buzz-opedia and introduced a first pass with the implementation of the Campaign Mode, which will be refined in SPM v. 0.7.13. We have also been tuning some game parameters based on the suggestions issued by the players. As always, you can find the full changelog here.

Please, let us know what you think!

Cheers,

Mind you, it will be refined in the next update. At the moment the short-term objectives involve just achieving goals. The plan is to add a lot more variety to that and, each time a new game starts, you will get a different set of objectives, thus increasing the replayability value.

This would be great. Now the objectives are some...restricted and obvious in some periods. If you receive an objective like "mars flyby" when you are heavy engaged with Gemini flights, this put a heavy pressure over the agency...and i like it.[:D]

The installer executable currently has a default installation folder under C:\Program Files(x86)

That's the wrong place for those of us behind the times and still on Windows XP. [:)]
For now, XP users can navigate to the proper installation folder of C:\Program Files\Slitherine by using the "Browse" button on the installer.
Thanks,
Stilicho

Ah, well spotted. I will see if I can change the installer so that it automatically detects the destination folder for the next patch. There must be a way to do that...
