Resurrecting Once More: B482 - SLQ-32 vs. ES-3601 - LCS beats the pants off any other ship with ESM

Post by Juramentado »

So I'm resurrecting this one more time hoping the Dev Team will look at it. (3rd Request) - emsoy? mike? [:)]

Basic premise - SLQ-32 V5 is getting it's behind *kicked* up and down the street by ES-3601. Very crude scenario attached, but basically, I have a late-class Perry FFG and an LCS-2 in close proximity. If you start the game clock, SLQ-32 V5 barely is able to passively detect about two contacts, compared to over twenty by LCS in the first 20 seconds of game time. No offense, but SLQ-32 V5 is no slouch, and ES-3601 *can't* be that good. Can someone please look at this? Save file attached.

I notice that the ES-3601 has OTH(over the horizon) capabilities, not sure if that matters or not.

Good point. It just seems like ES-3601 though soundly beats an ESM proven design that is featured on major combatants, so if it is good enough for Tico and Burke, why not the low-end of the USN? I'm just wondering what real-world evidence supports this simulated performance?

Well the LCS has a good pile of sensors, plus it's a relatively new ship.

I really like your scenario, by the way. Just a note those MLRS boats can't engage surface ships with their rockets. I'm thinking of giving the pirates a random start location and giving it a play through, but I'll throw a Burke in there as well. [:D]

Thanks. Just a note though - the scenario is not ready for play test. It's not even past the bare bones requirements I have for publication. But feel free to poke around and enjoy what I've got so far!

I will! Did you use a tool to import all the merchants?

Nope - all placed and plotted by hand. My rotator cuff started acting up afterwards. [:D]

Woah! That's a feat for sure. I get tired after 4 of them. Nice job!
