Try and keep it in perspective, as in the old military maxim, 'pain is weakness leaving the body.' That may not be true in a direct sense, but if you put your mind to it, the healing process can begin BECAUSE of pain, not despite it. A positive attitude isn't just important to healing, it's vital.

Well, this is anticlimactic... had all kinds of problems this morning... nothing went right... so I was late getting up to my appointment.

Now get this... my appointment was at 9:15... I arrived at 9:20... and was told they cancelled my appointment because I hadn't "checked in my 9am"... first I've ever heard of a requirement for advance "check in" - they didn't tell me. They said they had been calling to confirm the appointment but they had the wrong number on file (from when I was up on the rez). I had given them my new information when I called to make the appointment!

So, they rescheduled me for January 28th! And they really didn't care about my current condition... couldn't be bothered to let me talk to the doctor for a minute... just go away and come back in three weeks

I didn't want to waste money on another Emergency Room visit so I went over to Walgreen's and talked to their pharmacist for awhile. He confirmed that the combination of polyethylene Glycol, Cascara Sagrada, and Magnesium Citrate was an effective strategy, but to only do the Magnesium Citrate every three days. He also told me that since I had significant throughput and wasn't totally blocked, I was in no danger of immediate death... just needed to know what to watch for and to monitor my condition closely. Well, that was more thorough advice than I got at the hospital!

I will tough it out for another three weeks while stepping up fiber in my diet and more exercise to supplement the laxatives.

And that is why I am no fan of the American Health Care system!

I'll be my own doctor!

My wife says her doc gives you 15 minutes late. One time she was in line for 25 minutes and they tried to tell her she was late...
