RE: OK, lets see whose paying attention ;-)
Travelling for work at the moment but should be home at the weekend so will have some time on my hands (might even have a few turns if the booze allows before the weekend)

RE: Silver Lions Campaign - May 1985
Just wanted to make one last call for playtesters before I release this into the wild. It is only the 1st scenario "THE BALLOON GOES UP!", and is designed as a lead in and may be too easier for some regulars but I am envisioning this as something "light" to bring in new players to the game without them being overwhelmed in their first action playing campaigns.
If interested, please feel free to shoot me a PM.

Just an FYI. There are a couple typo's in the briefings that are currently being edited in a separate word processing program, I just haven't pasted the corrected copies into the actual scenario file.

Scenario #2 is in final tweaking mode. In this mission, you get to rescue some Turkish nationals caught in the crossfire near Berrfurth.

Played blind with total FOW on.
I thought I could move quicker around the edges. Obviously I didn't. The game timed out, I didn't trigger SD.

That's the primary reason I wanted another set of eyes or two to run through it. By now I have played it so much myself it was getting easier and easier and I knew where each enemy units was sitting and how long it would take them to get from point A to B. So much so that it was interfering with my playtesting. I'll probably need to bump up the game hours to allow more time to complete it. At least I seemed to have gotten around the continual SD I was seeming to be getting before.
Thanks MR.

I spread my forces out a bit too thin. I would think the scenario is fine for time. You don't want your scenarios to be too easy the first time they are played. It's better if they are a bit tough so they have some replay value.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. [;)]

I'm still playing it, but its dam cold here that I have to stop and fix a busted water pipe. Will test some more. I do think that the soviet should have some arty.

The Soviets do have mortars organic to their formation but nothing bigger as this 1st scenario is more to bring players in to the storyline. Looking forward to your results and more feedback especially if you think the US player has enough time to accomplish the objectives.ORIGINAL: JohnO

I have a question, at 05:41 HQ/SCT/2/68 AR in hex 2017 engaging 2/1/2/79 AB at range 1162m. If I have unchecked "Allow browsing of Enemy Units" because of the Fog Of War and when I select the red unit it just tells me 3 infantry units which is correct, but why would I know so quick what the unit designator is for that unit, could it just say unknown enemy unit being engage?

Ok, finished it. I will be sending to you a zip file with the save file turns, a copy of the SitRep, and a screenshot of the finial turn. I did good on it. Oh and I have a lot of questions on it. The time seem good, maybe let it be 10 hrs instead of 9 hrs, but that is me [:)]
DD, check your email, I sent the folder along with my notes.

If I had one more hour I'd have done much better as well. On the other hand, I'm a firm believer in making the battles a bit tough so gamers come back and try to do better. I don't really care for scenarios that I don't have to sweat bullets to win.
Just my $.02 worth.

Finally blocked out some time to start working on this again. I'll be redoing each scenario now that the new patch is out, ok, its only really 3 scenarios but its a start.
Anyway, I have also been working on the US OOB .xls file some more to add some subunits and try and change the formations a bit. Still need work on this to get it to work right it seems.
I now have some new subunits added in (cleaned up the unit images from what I had before) but need to doublecheck their stats. Some are more for eye candy as there is no in game vehicle recovery, resupply is automated and the Engineers . . well they are really just Infantry atm.
Anyway here is a pic.

Double Deuce, I remember your Silver Lions campaign from WinSPMBT. I had a lot of fun playing it. I hope you are able to complete this campaign for FPCRS.
There is no overkill. There is only "open fire" and "reloading."
