Stacking level issue

Post by Mike McCreery »

Hey all,

I am possibly having a bit of trouble. I am not sure.

I am trying to set up stacking limits for DBB - B scenario 28.

I managed to get the extended map up and running with no problems.

However, even though I copied the 3 DAT files to the main Matrix directory, I am not sure if stacking limits are in place in the game.

Where can you tell if a hex has an SL?

Select a non-base land hex. The top taskbar should now show the SL.

I started with a clean copy of WITPAE. There were some switches I needed to put in due to slow mouse movements. Then the game seemed to run fine.

I went to the Da Babes site and downloaded Babes_Extended Map art and data with SL.zip and downloaded it.

I copied that file to my main game folder, extracted the file and then copied the art files to the art folder and the 3 data files to the main game folder.

I ran the game and there are no SL's. Not even on Atolls where they usually are.

Puzzled...

Just completely wiped WITPAE and re-installed and followed the same procedure as above with the same results.

I am probably doing something stupid.

I installed the SL, extended artwork and Da Babes scenario on a windows 7 computer and it seems to work there.

The only problem is the SL is underneath the option buttons on the right hand side of the screen so I cannot read it.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Can you post a screen pic of what you are seeing?

The problem is that you are not using wide screen display, but a 4 x 3 display. Even the stock game will cover the SL on the top message bat on a 4 x 3 display.

Try loading the stock scenario 1 and click on Johnson Island and see what you can see there.

I had the same problem until I changed the view field. Once that's in place, it all shows up fine.

Yep, as dr.hal said, change to a higher screen resolution and it should work. Up side is, you got the correct map with SL installed.

I'm having the same problem. I've forgotten where I need to check my resolution set for the game in order to change the parameters? Can someone point me in the right direction. Dumb question and I should know this, but I might as well get with the times. [:D]

I am running a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution currently.

What do I need to do to get it to run in widescreen?

What do I need to do to get it to run in widescreen?

These, for example, are my command line switches for the War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe shortcut:

It tells the exe to skip the intro vid, use the software for direct draw, use only cpu 4, set game resolution to 1920x1080, and archive all report files in a separate folder.

"D:\WitP-DBB\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -skipVideo -dd_sw -SingleCpuOrders -cpu4 -px1920 -py1080 -archive

-px1152 -py864 and remove the -w. The menu isn't full but the game is well and you see detail with a good size.
