Tool for screen captures for your AAR

Post by Majorball68 »

Greenshot available from here: http://getgreenshot.org/

All you have to do is hit the print screen button and then you can size the file by left clicking, hold and release when you have the size you want. You can have it save automatically as a .jpg or open in editor so you can add objects like lines and circles. Good for those people who don't like complicated tools. To activate with print screen button you must start with the cursor outside the game window.

After installation just set preferences you want:

Looks good.

How do you capture screen shots where the mouse needs to be hovering over a unit to see a message on the Main Form?

The setting below in preferences appears to let you capture from within the game screen:

It allows you to take pictures with the cursor on the screen. I am no expert with it I just use it for work and its great for capturing anything on the screen without having to edit to size. You can delete the cursor marker.

Looks very good - but am still trying to find the key combination to do a fullscreen printscrn so that I can capture the Main Form on my secondary monitor while the mouse hovers above the map on the primary screen.

Ok - moving the Main Form to the primary monitor and making the map smaller to scrnprnt it also does the trick.
In their image editing program I can't find the option to crop away everyting outside the selection, but it can automatically start Paint as well, where that is very simple.

I think I like it. Just made a scrnprint of a mil placement bug in case the city has 2 air inside, showing also the message on the main form. Could not do that before, and it includes the white cross, which did not appear in a normal screenshot.

Thanks!

There are lots of little settings and preferences you can play around with that I am not 100% familiar with but its free and seems to do the job.
