Supply issues

Post by Klydon »

Yes, I know the supply issue horse has been beaten to death, but this one was a bit different.

Two CW units got caught in Belgium with the fall of France. They had no port in which to trace supply back to, yet still showed in supply. They are on the coast.

I do have a save if you want me to post it. I am playing version 1.09.

If they are on the coast, and you are not playing with limited overseas supply, they should be in supply. If you are playing with limited overseas supply and the Allies have a CP, TRS, or AMPH in the North Sea, they should be in supply.
To trace a basic supply path overseas, the unit must be in a coastal hex or trace the path via a port.

Ah, gotcha. Not playing limited overseas supply and there is a transport.

Sheesh, handy to know.

Thanks and sorry for the false alarm.

Note that this means that if you have an HQ on the coast, units that are inland can trace to it it, while the HQ traces overseas. Do not, however, move that HQ inland unless you have a port, or every inland unit you have will go out of supply. This rule is particularly important in Africa.

Another tricky supply rule is when you try to trace across water to an HQ. In that case you have to reach the HQ by going to a port. An HQ on the coast on the other side of the water cannot be traced to directly unless it is in a port.
