beta version Q

Post by Walker84 »

Hi, my buddy and I are about to embark on a new Scen 1 game and wanted to check that we have compatible versions running. We don't want to install Patch 7 just yet as he has another game ongoing.

My main menu says version 1.0.6.1108r9 (last official patch I believe). However his reads Version 1.7.11.23n which I have not seen before.

We initially thought that this might be because he has already applied the Andy Mac Scen 1 beta over the official patch but now I'm not sure as I have just applied it and my menu screen has not changed.

Sorry if this is a noob-type Q but any suggestions how we get up to the same version? I guess I might need to reinstall?

You need to get the 1123n beta. Really, you can have him .zip up his "Beta2" folder within his WITP folder and send it to you, as I don't think the 1123n is still in the beta thread.

If you both want to upgrade to the latest beta, look at the top of this subforum - there's a thread titled "Unofficial public beta" that is up to 1123v right now. I recommend it!

To be able to run different versions of the beta you can set up multiple installs.

Copy the entirety of the "War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition" folder to a new folder. Copy the short cut to a new short cut and set its "target" and "start in" properties to change the location within the path name.

You then upgrade to the beta individually for each installation.
