Another good scenario...really enjoyed it. Though there hasn't been one I haven't enjoyed yet. I have found though I usually win first time playing a scenario so far, saying that I always feel I'm loosing whilst playing. Though I think I will have to star with limited orders from now on.

Nice one, you seemed to have preserved a significant portion of your force, especially the HQs. I lost a fair number of them in between Deckbergen and Lehmbreite when the Warsaw forces came out of the woods and I wasn't able to reposition in time. My bad for initial placement. In addition a small force of about 10 T-80s drove right up and through Groggenweiden, including a PG Bn which only claimed 3 T-80s in response. The T-80s displaced and destroyed considerable PGs, Marders and HQ Utility vehicles. Not sure what was up with that, but the only oddity I have seen thus far. A PG Bn was untouched in Oldendorf - the AI made a couple feints there then backed off so I never did reposition them. A platoon of Jaguar AT did pretty well. :)

Seems we took out roughly the same amount of units..but you held them back alot better than me..but lost more troopers.

Looking at the point disparity it seems odd..Took out the same enemy more or less..I had more troopers till kicking at the end but the there is a HUGE disparity in VP. I'm sure Mad Russian said Victory Locations aren't necessarily worth the losses..yet this disproves that.

At first the enemy tried the center but was fought off..then went around to the left and it was here I didn't really have enough assets..also my Tank platoon was destroyed by T80's with out killing one Russian! This was a major blow for the left side defense..so the enemy managed to get across on the right and take those VL a fair few points I think 4 or 5 thousand. I also had units set up on my right and there wasn't a threat there so they wher eout of the game for a fair while.

Thinking about it it was the left hand side after they took out my tank platoon without a scratch where they got so many VP's..if my Tanks had performed abit better and held them up and if I had one or two right hnad side units there I'd have stopped them getting those to VL's. Still i was happy with a close call..if I smashed the AI in every scenario I'd think less of the game.

Just had my first run at this one as well. I was blindsided by the Soviet advance from the woods between Deckbergen and Lehmbreite and they drove over the bridge before I could manage to so much as scratch their paint, but since my C3 was in much better shape than theirs I pulled off an amazingly lucky airstrike that destroyed 16 T-80s on the bridge and a fortunately-placed ICM rocket artillery barrage that wiped out all but two of the rest, which left it open to be retaken. I got pretty solidly mangled in Hessisch Oldendorf since I misplaced my armor, but I managed to just barely hold it until the end. There's no way I could have lasted much longer.

I did a real bad setup. Let the Pact come into the open ground, I thought I could pick them off, they smashed me completly. Was giving out orders to blow the Weser bridges even though I had a few forces stuck on the other bank.

Was glad when game ended, did not really look at results, as I didn't have a fighting force left.

I also noticed my rocket Art just as the game was nearly finished. Teaches me to pay better attention next time.

Mat

I will return to fight another day.

There's no way I could have managed without the air support and MLRS. ICMs from the MLRS will demolish anything in the hex it hits; using it to blunt the Soviet push south into town was the only way that I wasn't completely overrun when the Soviets dropped to 30% strength and triggered sudden death.
