"What was the Digital Turn-Based Strategy Game of the Year?"
TW:R2 is currently winning [:D]
See what I mean by skewed. Only a fanboy would grin like that because it's winning. Skewed poll. Makes no nevermind people will see Metacritic a lot more than that skewed poll. Who's winning that user poll of 3.9 there? [:D]
Until they can find and make a way a user can only cast one vote all polls online are skewed. Even Metacritics because I'm sure some deranged yoyo (not mentioning any names) would make up several email addresses and vote 100 times on the same game just to get it to win some insignificant poll. Last thing I believe in is honesty on the internet.....yeah AOL is full of honest people isn't it? [:D]
The game is turn based as well as real time.
I enjoy it from time to time (though I have been too busy to fire it up for some time due to the holidays). It was pretty broke when it came out - from what I gather it's not in a bad state at the moment.
Weather it should be winning in any poll isn't really up to me - but I personally wouldn't vote for it in that category
So I was just laughing at it taking first place. I had to google your brit expression, "taking the piss", and I am still not quite sure what it means. When I think of TW:R2, turn based strategy isn't one of the things I would categorize it as. Not only that, and as you mention, it was pretty bad at release.
Now as to aaatoysandmore response, I find it funny that he brought metacritic into it like it was some form of proof of it being a bad game. So while he ranting or whatever that response was, he makes an idiotic move of using metacritic user reviews to "prove" his point about skewing polls, when metacritic user reviews is essentially nothing but that for big titles.
