The situation in France July/ August 43. The units in hex form shows most of the contents of sea box 3 in the Bay of Biscay. There re additional forces in the 0 box.

Axis impulse 2 July/August 43 ( impulse # 3 ) Fine weather everywhere
Italy advances towards Tripoli which is under CW control.
Germany attacks in the Caucasus at +11 rolls 3 for 14. A very bad turn of events for Germany, lost 2 Inf and a Mech Div and all attackers disorganized. Russia did lost he hex and an Inf.
Germany also moves troops from southern France weakening their river line defense there in order to man the hexes facing the Bay of Biscay and the anticipated Allied invasion there.
Japan sets out more defenses in their convoy areas.

I have been watching your AAR with a great intrest. Have been learning a lot about it. Thank you for continuing it.
I have a question here. It looks like you didin't clear out Leningrad (or atleast thats what I saw. Might be mistaken).
The question is, what is a reason behind it? I mean doesn't Russians build more units at there. Therefore behind your line?
I would also like to see situation at north, in borders of Finland.

Leningrad is in a swamp hex (defender doubled) and on the south surrounded by rivers (attacker halved). This means that to grab the hex (if it is stacked with two corps and a division) you will need to wait until the weather is snow (when marsh becomes woods and the lake freezes), sail the German Fleet out to provide shore bombardment, put units on a frozen Lake Ladoga (with the risk of the lake becoming water again, thus destroying those units if the attack fails), use HQ's and probably an offensive chit and a lot of air in ground strike or ground support.
Leningrad is nice to have, but very hard to take in any other weather than snow...
If I can't grab it, I make it into a PoW camp. Screen it until you got the units to grab it (which might be never, unless you are close to conquering the USSR. And that's very, very difficult)...

Allies impulse 2 July/August 43 ( impulse # 4 ) Fine everywhere
As expected the Allies invade Brest and Lorient with Infantry and Para troops and Air and Shore bombardment support.
Air to air fights over both places used up several Allied and German planes and bombers with a couple of bomber shot down on both sides. The invasions did succeed but both hexes ended up with the Allies units disorganized.
An attack by US units in the south of France also went well costing the Germans a couple of Mot units.
This also has Germany facing a troop shortage on the west front and they will have a difficult time defending both in the north and the south of France.
The Russians are beginning to advance towards the German lines in Siberia with about equal strength in the area now.

July/August 43 after impulse 4 and the Allied invasion at the Brest area.
The Germans will now have to try to stop this incursion and must use some of the troops in Southern France which will make the defenses there weak, Italians will have to fill in gaps.

July/August 43 impulse 4
The Russians in Siberia have gained enough strength to begin challenging the German forces there and they have begun closing in with the German troops. Germany no longer can attack there and will have to go on a fighting retreat to the west. Reinforcements are not likely in strength given the situation in France. The Caucasus front is still holding but is also unlikely to get much further.
Leningrad and Sevastopol are screened in as is Archangelsk and Murmansk.

In France the Axis were well aware of the Allied side's pending invasion but they did not have enough troops to securely hold both in the Bay of Biscay coast and against the Pyrenees while having a large part of their forces deep in Russia.
With an actual other player against you there is a lot of guesswork involved that is not present here.
In this game the Allied have gone for a Europe first strategy and while this is working well at this time the situation in the Pacific is a stalemate with both sides holding their perimeters with only minor fights mostly against convoys.
The US fleet is still building up in Honolulu.

US spends an O-chit on Eisenhower HQ in South France.
In air battles a German fighter and a bomber were shot down.
Two attacks using the O-chit strengths in South France worked for one attack and only retreated Italians in the other attack.
Note the US advances from the attacks.
The remaining ships in the 3box of B Biscay are shown in the units in hex form.

Italy manages to retake Tripoli now that the CW is very busy in France.
German troops consolidate their positions in Siberia and France, they now desperately need the next turns reinforcements to bolster the West front.
Japan ferries more troops to strengthen key City holdings.
Turn did not end.

US bomber lost to German Fighter but the attack took out a large German Armor and shattered another one in South France.
Russia has begun to advance carefully in Siberia. An Armor Division had just enough reach to enter and retake an empty Saratov.

Germany and Italy try to disorganize Allied units in South France with only partial success.
Germany knocks out a Russian Mech in Siberia and at this time after nearly being flanked with a Russian unit in Saratov has begun to withdraw to the west disengaging from the now quite strong Russian forces.

In the Caucasus region the Germans also begin an orderly withdrawal and will move in a northwesterly direction so the Siberian and Caucasus forces may join in a single front.

In France the combined German and Italian units strive to contain the Allied incursions as best they can. Substantial reinforcements are expected by the end of the month.
