Here's the situation on the West side. I'm sneaking up on that grouping of German units and I'm going to try to form a rudimentary
front line somewhere nearby and see if I can't surround them.

I've formed a battery park to hold all the tubes. I'm pretty sure I brought enough. Now to "space them out" by putting some of them on
'T' and some of them rest. Say half and half.......so that at least I'll always have some arty to fire.

C'mon Elmer !! That's the worse defense ever !

Well, its probably my fault, I should have some different objectives in there I guess. [:(]

Go ahead and put your objectives in there and I'll do a restart w/ the new version.

EDIT: Steve and I exchanged some email and it turns out that there's not a whole lot that can be done
to make Elmer spread out his attackers / defenders. You can give Elmer objectives and he figures out
where everybody goes. D'oh. So no restart is needed for this game.

Lemme show you what I have cooking on the front burner. I have designs on that German grouping and want to
defeat them w/o a great loss of life so I thought I'd cut off their supply. I busted a bridge north of the group and there's a recon unit
making it's way through the mountains to try to cut all the roads leading into that valley so the supply won't flow any more. It takes a
little longer but it might save some lives. If I tried to bulldoze my way through that group of Germans I would probably lose half my force.

I've been developing the battlefield on the West Coast and I think I may have cut off supply to them and I've started a surround on them
and so far it's looking good. I'm attacking the bottlenecks on the east coast and will be moving again shortly. And I've started a rail
from Taranto to Foggia.

Here's the situation on the East side now. I'm conducting operations to reduce the roadblocks to get the advance moving again.

Here's a view of an element of the 1st Canadian Division doing some house-to-house work in St Vito. It's slow going and every once in
a while a sniper puts another man down.

I stopped the Axis turn and was going to grab a screenshot that shows how dropping that bridge and cutting off the supply on that road
didn't stop the supply to that German group because of the supply point at Paestum. Either that or dropping the bridge didn't do what
I thought it was going to do. I guess it's the new supply rules that dropped bridges affect. Or effect. Whichever it's supposed to be.

It's October 2, 1943 and I'm falling behind schedule. The real life version of this had the Allies higher up on the boot than I am so far.
I think. I'm resting up a couple of divisions so I can make some landings at Napoli and Salerno. Or is it Salerno first THEN Napoli.

I dropped most of the 82nd Airborne Division on the road to Foggia trapping some Germans and cutting off their supply. Now we're
making some progress.

Here's the West side in T26. I'm trying to sneak some units past the Germans and then press further north. I'm going to need another
division at least to make a serious thrust north. I've got the 8th Indian Division on Sicily that I can sail up here. They wouldn't mind being
the tip of the spear for a while.

I thought I'd try some landings near Salerno. To open up the front a little bit. I've got about two dozen units waiting at ports for a trip
to the beaches in a second wave so there's ample units to go around.

I may have bit off more than I can chew w/ these landings near Anzio. I'm hoping these guys can hold on for one full turn until I can get
some more help to them.

Here's the front lines in T30. The Anzio landing is in trouble. They are surrounded and outnumbered. The line is collapsing. I need to
sail some more troops up there but I'm thinking there's not much available for transport. The East side is moving again. Foggia is the
next step for them. The East front is dynamic and constantly changing. The Salerno landing didn't get Salerno and they are hurting
for supplies.

Here's Anzio now. I'm down to my last reserve unit. One unit in reserve. That's not going to last long. I need to find some troops to
move in here to put boots on the ground.

My toehold near Rome may be in serious trouble. We may have a broken arrow here soon. I don't have any troops to send them
either. I definately bit off more than I can chew here.

Here's the East side now. I'm getting close to Foggia. As soon as Foggia is captured, it's my understanding that the Italian Air Force
surrenders and goes away and I'll be left fighting the Germans only.

Here's Salerno looking south. The Germans are proving hard to make them back up. I'm inching them back slowly, too slowly, and
eventually will be in mop up mode.
