Black side border

Post by AdmiralFatcat »

I have a 1 1/2 inch black border on both sides of my WitP AE screen. I've tried various switches in the shortcut but can't get rid of the black borders. I have the game on both my ASUS laptops and the switches that I use on my 17" don't get rid of the borders on my 15". Any idea on what settings will get rid of the black borders on my 15" laptop?

Thanks a bunch in advance for any help.

The game maps themselves have a very dark gray border. Is that what you're talking about?

No those are not what I'm referring to. These are solid black and extend the full height of the screen plus about 1 1/2 inches in from each side. The are visible all the way through starting sequence including the main menu screen. It's as if the game is operating within a window. I also have the game installed on my 17" ASUS laptop and somehow I got it to display properly with no black borders. I even tried the exact same shortcut settings I use on that laptop on my newer 15" and it didn't correct the problem. I believe both laptops have quad-core processors. I thought I found a thread once that told you how to fix this particular problem but I can no longer find it.
I installed WitP AE on my 15" so I could take it with me at times because my 17" is just too big and bulky for convenient mobile use.

Hi Choltan,

Send us a screen shot and the start string in the properties/target line. (For example "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1680 -py1050 -cpu2 -multiaudio -dd-sw -skipVideo -archive)

Cheers,
Guy

Finally got it to work. This is the shortcut start string:

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -f -altFont -Cpu4 -SingleCpuOrders -px1900 -py1080 -skipVideo -deepColor -dd_sw

Thank you for your help with this. Now all I need is to get WitP Tracker working.
