The IJN really does have a glass jaw. If you can catch them operating far from home, you can sink some ships.

Just read your post in the War Room. It sounds like he's going deep early and backfilling later. You may be able to leave some nasty surprises on the backfilling portion, if you're able to sneak by some stuff. Or you can make him pay if he doesn't backfill soon enough by cutting right in with a one-two punch: hit whatever is impeding your SLOC to a place he neglected to take, then get in there (the deeper place) right away with reinforcements and build it up.

Just my general thoughts [;)].

100% agreement on this. Try to find a place that you can supply with USN SS. Torps are bad but the supplies will work. :)

In the early game, sometimes being annoying is good enough. As you may find out in your game as Japan vs Hal.
Sometimes things said in Nitwit sound very different in English.

If making a stand in SW Aust beware of the insidious end run around to Albany or Esperance. There was another AAR on here in last couple months where the IJA trapped most of the Aust army in this fashion!

RE: What could possibly go wrong? Wargamr(A) vs njp72(J)

Post by Mike McCreery »

We have been going round and round in South West Australia. He is finally sending a block of units to take out Kalgoorlie and I have 2 divisions bearing down on Cunderdin.

Even if he takes Kalgoorlie he will have to have troops there to keep it.

I am hoping his supply situation causes him to retreat.

Also, I am hoping to smash whatever is in Kalgoorlie which I dont know the AV of. He only started with 680 but I think he might have added more. We are going to find out soon.

He is completely trashing the 17th Division that tried to cause some trouble.

There are over 500AV at Madras behind lvl 3 forts. We will see what he can do. There is a small amount of supply and almost no fuel there.

He finally arrive at Calcutta a few days ago. Unfortunately for him the Burma manuver is almost completed and 120 AV of troops will enter Calcutta tomorrow for over 1060 AV. If he breaks that he gets a quarter million tons of fuel. I really do not want to see that happen.
