Map moving its orientation after sea intercept phase

Post by Hellen_slith »

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, or if it as easy solution I just can't find, but...

When moving naval unit through a sea area w/ enemy in it, the "intercept?" dialogue appears. When I click through it using "Don't Intercept", that dialogue disappears, but the map re-orients to the home country. E.g.,

Moving French naval unit from Red Sea to Eastern Med through an Italian enemy present. Click through w/ "Don't Intercept" for the Italians, and when that dialogue disappears, the main map jumps back to France instead of staying there in the Red Sea / Mediteranean area, which then I have to scroll around back to where I was. This is getting very frustrating having to scroll around so much b/c the game "jumps" the map around.

Is there something I can do to make it stay where the movement is taking place? I've tried saving Map styles, but I guess I'm doing something wrong. Thanks in advance for the help. PS playing Global War solitaire this happens, not sure about the other types of maps or games.

I have seen this as well, though not every intercept. At this point I'd suggest setting up Map Views for the most common sea zones of interest for each country and then you can go back with one click.

This has gone on the bug list, but my concern is that it has lower priority compared to game stopping items, thus the suggested workaround.

Thank you for the suggestion. I think an easier workaround may be just keeping the Global Map View handy, and then you can just click on the area you need to go back to.

Still not perfect, but much better than scrolling around.

Thanks again!

If the flag in the Player Interface to automatically center on the next selectable unit is set to ON, it does so. But if that flag is set to OFF, it doesn’t.
