Trappenjagd Opponent Wanted - still open!

Post by BossGnome »

Hi,

After a long absence from this game, I would like to call upon a worthy opponent to face me in the Trappenjagd scenario. I have a preference for playing the USSR, but I wouldn't mind playing the germans either.

I am a veteran of Matrix Games, but I wouldn't say I am particularly good at Case Blue. I can do probably about 5 turns a week, more during the holidays, less when midterm and finals season comes around (I am a Master student).

I would like to play with the following options

High command, on. Dismissal defeat, on (if it comes to that then the game is probably over anyways!) Axis minors ON. C&C rules ON. FOW ON Statistics (this was a particular peeve of mine in my previous PBEM under a previous patch, it was too easy to compare statistics with the opponent and try to plan accordingly). More constrained oil ON (another problem pre-patch - germans had too much damn oil). Flieger divisions ON (why not?) and Hardcore recon rules ON.

I am flexible on the flieger divisions and hardcore recon rules if you really don't like them.

Also, I would like to have PBEM security off. The reason for this is that, when I played this game for a little bit back when it came out, my PBEM got unfortunately derailed when I found I could not cope with the time requirements of the PBEM security. It takes anywhere from 1.5-3 hours for me to do a turn in this game, and I cannot usually sit at the computer continually for that length of time. The only other option is to leave the computer on with the game running and... horrors of horrors, I had the game crash on me a couple of times, destroying everything. As such, I would definitely like to play WITHOUT PPBEM security, because there is nothing so frustrating as redoing a turn every 10 days or so because your old computer crashes on you. Don't worry, I have better things to do with my time than to cheat by running my units around the board reconing everything. In any case, if I understand hardcore recon rules, such attempts at cheating shouldn't yield much intel anyways.

If that sounds good, please accept my PBEM ++ challenge; it's under the name "BGnome" with the password being "comeon."

Alternatively, you can PM me or e-mail me at guillaumelamothe@yahoo.com if you want to negotiate the particular rules of the game.

I hope to see you on the battlefield![:)]
