Understand it will get fixed, when it gets fixed. I'm just one of many messengers.

I confirm the Japan trade to US does not work. I look forward to the video that may explain to me why it doesn't work. I'm not using oil option.

I have started multiple games lately to test for this problem and cannot recreate the US-Japan trade agreement issue. If you have time could you post a screen shot of the optional rules you are using for a game with the issue. I am searching for some relationship between optionals and the the problem and only have a couple data sets so far.

RE: Really, the resource shipping subroutines need work
I am in a game using all the 'Expert' rules and have never seen an issue with either Japan/US or Germany with BPs and resources. Of course I always load the default setups at the start and do not try to do anything fancy/strange manually with the CPs at the start. So this is really a non-issue for me. I have no idea as to why it is with you though. BTW the BP transfers have always worked for me even in 1.0 when loading the default setups for the game.

The game I started in the AAR hasn't got this problem at all (and it also has quite a lot of optional rules on). It really is a very strange bug since some players have it and other don't...

I change the optional rules that I play with relatively often, and have never received the BP. There are a few constants in my rule set, however... the most relevant would be oil rules off. I also don't use the light cruisers or food in flames. I don't use construction engineers, synth oil plants, factory builds or fortifications, but I can't imagine how any of those would affect this. I've had the problem with saved BP's on and off.

I wonder if it could have anything to do with when we bought the game (ie... the revision version that was first installed). Could be a bit of code from an earlier version maybe?

It's so very, very strange. Last Sunday I started a new game from scratch without oil rules and I had no problems at all with the US build point. I can try to do anything with the US or the Japanese (removing the convoy line during an impulse and get it back in place the next impulse) but I can't recreate this bug.
It's annoying...
And I'm a user of the "Essen release" as base for MWIF now. The oldest one available...

We were on 1.07 or 1.08 when I got the game.

I can rule this out as a possibility. Using two different saved games I get a Good and a Bad on the BP from Japan to the US. I'm always running the same version.ORIGINAL: Zartacla

Oil rule On/Off is an interesting possibility. Maybe Saving Oil On/Off?

I have tried oil rule on/off and each worked fine. I used the exact optionals that both bommerrang and Zartacla were using from the supplied saves, both my games then had no issues. I also went back and "forgot" to setup the 5 Japanese CONV in the Japanese Coast, had the setup remind me, then placed the CONV - again my game works fine.
Out of ideas where to go from here.

I've never played with oil rules on, I've had saving oil/bp both on and off.
Crazy strange probably stupid idea... Could playing with oil turned on even one time change something in the code that would make it work from then on?

Could be a windows compatibility mode thing.
I would try setting MWIF.EXE to run in XP service pack 3 mode if you are on Windows 7. Some device drivers seem to be handled by the 32bit WOW interpreter of Windows7 64-bit, and rarely do interfere in other applications.
Stab in the dark.
Have you checked to see if this is a saved game bug?
