Feedback for Build 4.6.269

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Dave, Miguel suggests that this should be improvable fairly easily.

Dave, we already determined in the beta forum that the map caches are not being loaded. I think this has already been fixed.

Rebuilding the cache for FTMTTR didn't change anything for me, by the way. But it's only a split second delay, and as Daz says, not something that bothers me if it's the price to pay for the supply refinements.

pekische,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It's hard to make an assessment just on the screenshot. Can you please supply a save.

You can get the new beta now (.270), Pekische - see if it's still happening with that. I haven't had any of that kind of issue with it so far. Early days, though.

pekische,

I am struggling to come to grips with your reported problems. I need your help. As it is right now I have no idea what to look for or when to look. First when you describe the problem here in this forum can you please display your screen dump in the post. Just check the "Embed picture in post" box after you upload the picture. That way I can see it instantly. Also annotate or include in an accompanying text description the time it occurs in the game and the unit(s) in question.
And when you send me the save link back to the forum post. Thanks.

I checked this out and you are right in that we have the rear guard leading. Good catch. But do you have a save taken from immediately after the order was issued and before they start moving off?

OK I checked this one out an d sure enough the mortar platoon is a support filler and should be following 2 PG Coy, which it clearly is not. Good catch. What I need though is a saved game taken after their order but before it gets out way ahead, preferably immediately after the order was given.

BTW everyone. I strongly recommend that when you are playing the beta versions can you please pause the game before you issue a new order and save it after the order has been issued before you unpause it. That way you will have the saves I need if anything untoward happens. Thanks.

Just downloaded the new beta Zip, but when I tried to extract the files, it asked for a password.

Is this my game's serial #?

I'm not sure. Try it and get back to me. If not, we'll need to ask Matrix as they built the installer for it.

I went into its properties and realized this zip opens with the 7-zip file manager -- which I heretofore never heard of -- and when you use this manager, it doesn't ask for a password. The extracted patch then adds the game serial # as per usual.

Sorry for the excitement.
