USSR Campaign Issue

Post by conger »

I completed the first campaign mission as USSR and after clicking "ok" to continue; I get sent
to an empty map (no units, terrain is still there), after clicking through the "rally phase" the
game ends with a German victory and returns me to the main menu. The map it takes me to is called
"Zero Map".

Two things to try, please. From the main menu hit New Campaign->second soviet mission. And Load Game->Orlovka (End). Can you please let us know if either of these work or don't? Thanks.

Afraid neither worked, trying to load the scenario end resulted in the same issue and the other
option did not work (no second mission popped up). The rest of the game works just fine for me.

OK, figured it out. Thanks for reporting this! Fixed for 1.03 but anyone else who gets stuck, please unzip the attached file into your /maps directory.

edit: see below for proper file

Found a new issue, on mission 2 I get told that Soviet reinforcements have arrived- but none do. Instead
at the start of my impulses the camera pans to the bottom left of the map, where nothing has/is
happening.

The reinforcements are not actually under your control. It is panning to one of your units to control at the start of your impulse. The reinforcements are over to the right, you'll see em.

Thanks! I just found it odd, that it would pan to the bottom left- where nothing is.

The new units are not showing up in mission 2, I've got the save files where the game says x has
arrived. This is the first, where the partisans are supposed to show.

Here's the second save, where the Red Army units aren't showing up.

Some questions for you: did you start the game from New Campaign->On the Road, or Load Campaign->Orlovka (End)?

And then did you save/reload at all while playing? If you reloaded was it from the in-game Esc menu or did you back out to the main menu?

Thanks!

For the save files- I did new campaign then mission 2 selection. I have done it before loading
the end of the first scenario though. I did no save and reload, hope that helps.

There's a section of code that moves units off the map if they are reinforcements, and it's not supposed to be called when you reload a game (since it's already been done). Apparently you somehow did that... a mystery. I suppose the messing with files to fix the wrong scenario might have caused it. Anyway, I've fixed it for 1.03 so it won't reposition them twice no matter what.

In the meantime, here are your fixed saves. Since you managed to get it to happen once already it's probably safer to use the second save until 1.03, if you don't mind the partisans being a little behind.
