[FIXED B508] F-35s stuck in ready cycle

Post by AndrewJ »

Hello,

I have a situation (Operation Brass Drum, Build 490) where I have a group of 6 F-35s readying for a JDAM mission on LHA 6 America. The planes all landed within a few minutes of each other, and are nearly finished their 6 hour cycle to refuel and rearm. However, when their ready time is finished they do not become ready, and instead they go back to the start of their 6 hour cycle and start counting down again.

There are plenty of munitions available, so that shouldn't be limiting the readying process, and (although I don't know if you track jet fuel this way) the America has enough fuel left (28008 units) to cruise for 2 weeks and 5 days at 20 knots, so that shouldn't be a problem either.

One strange thing I noticed is that when I was looking at the magazines view I had closed the lesser magazines I wasn't interested in (SRBOC, Phalanx, 12.7) to compress the view. Then, after the ready cycle turned over the game had popped them open again. I remember that a couple of weeks back there were problems with items being assigned to the wrong magazines (see the "Drop Tanks in the Meroka magazine" thread). Is it possible that something related is going on, and the software is looking in the wrong magazines to try and load its munitions, and when it can't find them there it starts to ready again?

Thanks.

In order to keep playing the scenario I used the scenario editor to force the re-readying F35s to become ready immediately. For a few seconds those aircraft remain "ready", but then a few moments later they start readying again! [X(]

Now I know the ground crews can be over-protective of their precious machines, but they really need to let the pilots fly them at some point!

Is there some setting, or quantity, or scenario condition I'm missing that indicates I'm not supposed to fly these twice? [&:]

Thanks Andy. Likely does have something to do with it. Logged to be looked at.

Thanks!

Hi Guys,

I think know the cause of the issue as it appears to be associated with a bug I reported a while back (aircraft not leaving the landing pad causing additional aircraft to crash due to no free landing spots). It appears to be any aircraft that re-arms on the landing pad have the issue that they 'reset" the loadout once it counts down and get stuck in the loop. If you look at nail#1 and #2 which are re-arming in the hanger there is no such issue wit the time time re-setting.

If the logic is changed to make all aircraft proceed to the hanger on landing (this seems to only be an issue with landing pads on LPA's etc) rather than filling up the landing pad spots, it should fix it as they will re-arm in the hanger.

Andrew J, are you sure this is a bug and not a feature?

I'm just saying, F-35 which does not ready... probably not really an anomaly lol
