Hmmmm... Seeing as how Wild Bill and the team are very much in tune with the WW2 era, maybe they'd be willing to barter. I'll give you a case of scoth, 4 pairs of nylons, and this guaranteed genuine Hitler youth knife.

Just call me CrapGame (Kelly's Heroes for those not familiar)

ROTFL - It has nothing to do with nobility - I have a Wife and Daughter that rate areas by their MALLS - I'm broke!!!

But I'd trade a CD with SPWaW version 2.3 and my fourth son for that case of scotch - just don't tell my wife or Wild Bill!! Image

My credit card is good and ready, but what are we talking about? I've got to the end of this thread hoping to find out! How long are you going to keep us in suspense?

I'm hoping that David chooses a method of payment that does not include credit cards. Not that I think he and the Matrix crew would run wild with my cc# .... its everyone else that I worry about! Hey David how about money orders?

I'd be more worried about the 16 year old clerk at K-Mart...If we were out to scam credit card numbers we'd run a porn site :!

Fabs,

David posted this on Feb 13th - I'm pretty sure this what it's all about.

Ok here is some more information. We are in the middle of SPWaW v5.0. It will include a new and improved Mega Campaign. Two Mega Campaigns are in the works. One is being lead by Bill Wilder on the 1941 North Africa campagin and will have a follow up campagin into 1942. The other Mega Campaign is being lead by Brent Richards and will cover the Eastern Front in 1941 and will also have follow up mega campagins. We will be selling these mega campagins for $20.00 on a CD with a free copy of SPWaW v5.0. Many of you have been asking how you can support Matrix so we spent extra time and effort being back the Mega Campaign and adding some new game features. SPWaW v5.0 will of course still be a free download by itself. Some of the features we are working on are Close Assults and Overruns to name just a few of the new features we are working on.

That and more. We hope to have all the tutorials, plus all the original scenarios updated, up to scenario165.

Plus the campaigns, including a new one, Arras, and the combined Long Road to Victory.

Version 5.0 is going to have so many things you have wanted in the game for so long!

And the MEGA CAMPAIGN. It is sight to see and a wonder to behold...! You are gonna love this one, guys! We have a group of 30, including some of your best designers and testers around, working hard to make this one a real experience. It's coming!...WB

Actually Paul I'm not worried about K-Mart, they went under (here in Canada anyway) a few years ago Image. I was thinking more of hackers and such. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping you guys will offer a method of payment other than through the internet.

Wild Bill, I don`t know if you mentioned it before, but for the long campaign, what force will we be starting out with, I mean nationality and what period will it cover?

I am fairly certain that there will be alternatives to sending your credit card info via the internet, but SSL 128 bit encyrption is going to keep all but the NSA from intercepting the number in route, so you are still left trusting the equivalent of a store clerk on the other end.

I hope you will accept international orders.

How much will the postage be to Finland?

This might be some useful info for our american friends, credit cards are not nearly as popular on the other side of the Atlantic as they are here. Yes they are available but most transactions are still done by either cash, cheque or debit card. Actually both Mastercard and Visa both have been complaining why the European market isn't following the North American model.

Having moved from the Netherlands to Canada almost two years ago I am still amazed what you can, and more important canot, do with or without a credit card here.

Including a money order payment system definitely makes sense if you wish to cover the European market in earnest.

As for online security..I wouldn't use the NSA as a benchmark system for defining the security of 128 bit encryption considering that it was roughly 5 months ago that same NSA got it's servers 'knocked' on from three parts of the world simultaneously.

Never underestimate the wits of the teenager that wants to prove to the rest of the world: "because I can".

There is an unconfirmed rumor that even Microsoft has ordered employees to keep sensitive data traffic off the Net and use their own LAN's only if the data has high priority.

I'm new to this forum, but not new to SPWAW, since I downloaded it a couple of months ago. Let me tell to all of you who contributed to the making of this game that I appreciate it very much; I never saw a wargame like this.
Since I learned that V 5.0 is to be ready soon, I wanted to know if there will be any problems in getting the CD here in Italy. I hope not!

That has more to do with the ease with which passwords can be optained by lax personnel than the the vulnerability of traffic in route from place to place.

The ease with with someone hacked NSA's website is hardly indicative of how hard it may or may not be to break 128 bit encryption, but poor security proceedures on their part...??

THe reaction for Microsoft was because it was recently hacked badly - the use of "air-gapped" networks to the extent possible to prevent compromise of a password form cascading to far... again having little to do with the vulnerability of data in transit.

My point is simply a fact that is well known to all in the computer security field, that the humans are always a far weaker link in security than the hardware and software is.

I'm not sure what means for ordering we will have, so don't get all verklempt yet Image

You may have noticed that none of us down here in Australia are waving our $20 bills. That's because at the current exchange rate its closer to $40

If we wait much longer we'll just add a naught to the US price!

Still, it'll be worth it.
