US Resources to Japan

Post by AllenK »

Hi, I'm a complete newbie to MWIF so please forgive if this is blindingly obvious but I can't get the US resources to convoy to Japan on the Global War US setup phase.

I've put 5 convoy points in each of the 4 sea areas between the West Coast and Japan. I've selected a resource on production planner, selected Japan as destination on the default table and hit recompute and nothing happens. I still show the same number of unused convoy points.

I've managed to convoy the Alaskan oil and the Venezuelan oil back the mainland USA, so I think I've grasped the basics but am stuck here.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards

As USA you only need to place the convoy points as you have already done. The program automatically gives the resources to Japan. This is easier to see in the Japanese production planner. Note that Japan must also send their convoy points to sea.

Edit: Note that you can move to other nations resource planning by clicking on the large flag in the form.

IIRC, you just need to put 5 CNV's on only two zones as the USA and Japan puts five in the other two (can't remember their names). Once they are there, the program does this transfer automatically for this trade agreement. (ignoring the BP from Japan to USA intermittent bug for now). Once you have the CNV's properly in place, the Trade Agreements will show all is good.

Don't worry I didn't find this part of set up blatantly obvious either.

Hi

Thanks for the replies. Leaving aside Japanese convoys sharing the load, I wasn't surer what would happen if you ignore the trade agreement violation.

I give up with the screen shot. Could someone give me a quick step by step guide for this?

The only other thing I can think is the convoys aren't right.

Thanks

If US is at fault in the US-Japanese trade agreement then the penalty may have the effect that US can never declare war on Japan. This warning should never be ignored. The penalty is severe.

Ah, thanks for your help. Although the convoys aren't showing as being used and the resources aren't shown as being delivered, by setting their destination as Japan, the trade agreements form has changed to show Japan violation only. So, can at least move on with setup.

During setup you just need to place the CPs in the correct sea area.

USA must set up 5 convoy points in four sea areas.
Japan must set up 5 convoy points in one sea area.

Once this is done both nations are in compliance and the resources should be transported automatically during the end of the turn as long as the convoys remain in the sea area. (Do not remove their sentry status)
