You have a hole somewhere in your variable structure.

If you add systems/planets etc to the game at the beginning, invariably around 50-60 years into the game you will start getting null reference object errors + crashes.

My gut says when the editor adds stuff, as compared to when the game 'creates' the universe something does not get linked or attached correctly.


Also an option in the 'create' process to disable the editor would be nice. So you can remove temptation from yourself.

Do you have a crash log for those errors? The info in it is useful for Elliot when it comes to fixing it. They are written in the folder "above" the save game folder for the version.

%appdata%\Code Force Limited\Distant Worlds\1.9.0.13

Should take you there for the latest version. The info in it is useful for Elliot when it comes to fixing it. If it always crashes at a certain time, uploading a save game is useful too.
