Sorry, I'm playing your other one (Allied Ironman as IJ).

+2!

Andy, you rascal. Am already playing your Babes NN quick and dirty port, this one will have to wait for a bit. But I know it will be good...

And:

I would also like to recognize your sheer creativity in adding unusual units - air, land, sea - that do so much for the scenario. One of my first priorities upon a new Andy Mac release, is to check for the unusual and Easter eggs, so that I enjoy the sheer nastiness and add them to my own scenarios. All of this above and beyond the incredible AI scripts...

To b eclear this is the Nasty overlay to the scne 10 ironman scen so you need to apply the AI changes from the unofficial scen update then this is a straight overwrite

I started up a fresh game of V5.0 and all I can say is great! Wow! I played the first turn on hard and have changed it to historical after loosing over 50 ships and countless airplanes in the first two day cycle. Plus all the exciting unexpected attacks really hits the Allies hard as there is nothing with which to counter them....

After one month of play the Japanese are a juggernaut with surprise landings, nasty defenses, the Mersing gambit launched, German pocket battleships and cruisers, saboteurs, dacoits, infiltrators, unbelievable pilots, advanced airplanes, nasty commerce raiders, and a very aggressive multi-pronged attack which right now makes me wonder how I can reinforce New Zealand and counter a serious threat against Canada as the AI seems to be pushing in strength.

Malaya was sliced and diced as were the PI islands. About the only complaint I have is those excellent Betty pilots flew into the Singers flak and have taken a real beating for no reason as there is only 125 AV there. But hey, I will take it since they never seem to miss when launching torps at ships.

I have managed to sink one CV and a CVE (a dutch sub and a lucky strike from a CV early on) but it is tough sledding. The victory point ratio is 1.7 to 1 in favor of the Japanese and climbing steadily. The Enterprise took some bomb hits right after Midway fell, but so far all the Allied carriers are alive and kicking. The Warspite survived with 98% system damage somehow, and the Yorktown just appeared so there is hope to stem the tide.

Nowhere is safe! Well done!

Wait until you get to march.[:@]I have lost almost 1500 A/C. Very little in the pool. But at least I have my CV's. Atleast for now. Oh and getting supply to OZ, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.[:(]

I feel your pain! Thru December the allies have lost 600 planes!

I have been pondering supply shipments. It seems to me you need a SAG with at least two heavy CA and DDs shadowing major convoys set to react. Dedicated ASW groups near ports to shepherd them in. Toss in CV escorts for troops and or tankers. Don't worry about being efficient just large with protection.

The AI has almost effectively cut the supply to OZ.[:(] I am preparing a amphib assault to fix a part of the problem. Will see.

Hey Andy, How about combining your Nasty with RA 6.6? Toys and action. Would be a great mix.[:)][:)][:)]

Crank it up to hard several days a month. The AI needs the supply bonus from hard.

I thnk Andy has designed the Ironman series to work "balanced" at normal. You can run hard, but don't need to for the AI to work. I do, as suggested above, run hard about 4 days per month just to keep the AI strong. I would not suggest you attack on those days and beware of really strong counter-attacks coming your way ...

In any of the stock scenarios you need to run Hard as you baseline ....
