Bad as the supply situation is I'm impressed that most of your front line units are green of some sort
Hey there Petey.........I'm resting the units when they get below 60% readiness so that most of the units
are hovering right around 60% most of the time. Whenever they get enough supply to move a hex or
two ( 62% -- 65% ) then I move them. If not they stay put. It's slowed down the process remarkably
but the units are green and ready for combat and any surprises from the Germans.

I've got one dedicated RR engineer on each of the three rails headed north and the regular engineers
are on the middle rail and it's lengthening pretty well. I'm hoping to eventually have one rail that goes
from Reggio to the Arno river and there's one rail that goes across the waist of the peninsula.

Here's the East side in T81:

The men of the 370th Regiment make their way through Prato, Italy and still have to climb the mountain in the background.

Here's the front lines in T84. See the differences between this and the T82 picture? Me neither.

Allied Turn 44 and I've captured Naples with a FF landing. The Germans have put up a good fight all the way up from Paestum, with several good counter attacks. The Germans do a lot of bombardment attacks; it seems to me that their artillery should be set more towards combat support to help in their defensive fights.

Way to go Petey dude. I don't remember where I was in T44.....I'll have to look that up, see how we're tracking with each other.

You know, I don't have any proof but I'm thinking that Elmer uses his arty each way, defensively and offensively. Every Elmer arty unit
is usually cherry red meaning it's been working out hard. I'd be surprised to find Elmer not using his arty in both ways.

It seems like I was still fighting to get into Salerno or something. Definately not as far north as you did. Way to go. Good hunting.

EDIT: Hey Petey, how about posting one of those zoomed way out views, a strategic view of your front lines.

It feels like the air war is largely over with. I'm seeing fewer INT attacks and the furballs are rare anymore. If I thought about it a little bit
I might do some sweeps to enemy airfields to make sure but as it is I feel comfortable moving all the airplanes to a three-dot stance on
whatever their mission is. All of them.

Here's a glimpse of the middle of the front lines in T85. My units are unorganized and in a goumble ( noun: a mess, hey I just made
up a word ) and I've got to get organized better and get the formations back together. I'll start working on that. The map will look
better and my pictures will be more picturesque.

EDIT: How about the word jumble instead? I like that one too.

Here's the East side in T85:

Quick question for Steve: If I disband the 1st Free French Motorized ( hypothetical unit ) will it respawn in a future turn? It might be
easier to get these low-profile units out of my way by disbanding them altogether. They then respawn somewhere and I move them to
a better position. Often it's a much better position.

OK here is the strategic overview at the beginning of Allied turn 51. I have captured Naples and Foggia, and am clearing the area North of both. Most units are pretty shot and low on supply, so I will take a pause on the advance and clean things. Both East and West coast rail lines are up to the front.

No way.....really? I'm impressed. That's the key....I've decided this recently......the supply level is the key to the advance. Without it
you're going nowhere fast.

Here's my turn 51 front lines. This is just after I made that disasterous landing near Anzio and moved on Rome. Looking back on it now
that I know now what I know, I'm thinking that Rome adventure just delayed my progress. I had a two-front war and had to move some of
the shorter-range planes to include them and everything. I'm not sure I'd do that again. It was really risky and only lucked out because
I'm fighting the AI. A human player probably would have pushed everybody back to the beaches.

Here's the T86 front lines. I'm having to save up supply to have enough to move and / or attack and the supply rail is advancing really
slowly and all the units are moving like they are immersed in molassas or something.

One last picture for the night. Beginning of Allied turn 55. The Germans have pretty well staffed the Gustav line. I'm rotating fresh units into the line to begin the assault. No real Axis resistance North of Foggia.

A disbanded unit will return, let us know how it works out.

The area depicted in your picture........I had a hard time there too. Part of the problem is how the Germans are using the terrain to make assaulting them more difficult. And the Gustav Line was manned and ready when I got there too. Fresh units are hard to come by unless you plan for it I've found. And the only resistance I found in the Foggia area was some AA units and they were only a few.

Here's the West side in T87. I'm trying to force some fresh units through a tiny hole I found in the German lines.

Here's the East side now-a-days. I've finally got a surround on some Germans and I'm starting a mop up operation with this attack.
