Nighty-Nite: how can we destroy the M4A1 soviet tank?

Post by moet »

I tried with two different stacks of infantry leaded by a 7 morale leader and also with the Pz III J in close assault, one after one in the same round, but the target got any damage. Is it just a question of luck with dices?

From an anecdotal standpoint, I've only been successful in about 20-30% of my close assaults, so it does pretty much come down to the luck of the dice. I got a big one last night, though, in Ambush, when Morosov took out the PzIV, and then used the wreck as cover to deal more mayhem to the Fascists for several more turns. :)

Assault works like this: All assaulting units check morale. If their departure hex provides cover (building woods) they get a bonus, Leaders also help). The squads that pass the morale check move into the hex, roll 1d6 and add it to their firepower. Some SW, like satchels and Molotovs help. Tanks rolls dies and adds it to lowest armorfactor. High man wins. If the squad wins the tank explodes, if the tank wins the squads retreat to whence they came.
World at War: Revelation, a creepy, military action, alternate history, World War Three novel. At Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (http://tinyurl.com/mcgcht8). Only $3.99. What the hell?
