Suggestion for beaches/ports

Piercing Fortress Europa is a new game from veteran game designer Frank Hunter, which covers the campaigns of the Western Allies from July, 1943 through the end of April, 1945 in Sicily and Italy. Each area has its own map and time scale to best represent the campaigns for Sicily and Italy and the player is offered complete freedom, limited only by a historical order of battle and logistics model, to plan his operations and explore all of the many “what ifs” that the Italian theater has to offer.

Suggestion for beaches/ports

Post by PKH »

Decided to try this game out. It looks nice and seems quite interesting so far.

For ports and invasion beaches, I think it would be a good idea to display number of workers & percent complete directly on the map in the neighboring sea hex. Plus and minus buttons for workers could also be added here for the selected hex.

A couple of other things.
- I'm missing a highlight or border for the selected hex.
- Selecting an action, then cancelling it with escape or right mouse button usually leaves the shading for the action on.
- The manual says invasions in the south are safer because of better air cover, but I don't see a way to display information related to that on the map.
- A selectable list of units in the current hex would be useful.

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll look at the couple of issues you mention asap.
