China: The 26th Group Army takes a major beating in front of the mountains on the road to Kunming. The good news, a small formation was able to open the hex side for them. The defeat was almost total as the blood bath continues. 20th Army group is now a ghost formation trying to extricate itself from five sides. Paul conveniently left a clear terrain hex open for them. Damn the JFBs are mean.[:D].

Zulu, you get points for style for Most Artistic AAR. Everyone else mentions ASW encounters from time to time. You provide visuals.[:)]

Keep fighting the good fight, sir.

Many thanks to you sir. I love reading through quite a few of the AARs, typically when I should be reading corporate email nonsense.[;)] I only tend to comment in a few as I don't want to post bad advice or misinformation. After roughly 2,ooo turns I still consider myself a novice and B player. I learn something more often than not every time I catch up in one of the games. I can't think of anything I have ever purchased with an ROI like WITP. I have a couple of objectives with this AAR not in any kind of order. I like to use it as a calendar of events for planning. I want anyone stopping in for a look to want to come back and check out the next day, and offer alms or advice as the circumstance dictate. And, it would be cool if someone dropped the dime and picked up the game and joined us because it just got them to damned to curious not to. I hope the new format is fun to check in on, I have fun doing it.

The action today is over Luganville, the Burma plain, and the Chinese perimeter north of Sian.

SoPac: IJN cruiser TF north north east of Ndeni vanishes. The skies are quiet over New Caledonia today. Luganville goes to AF-7.

SwPac: IJN tankers spotted. Maybe AOs? Curious if carriers are entering the Coral Sea again. Night raids by B25s miss at Lae. Recon over PM shows over 14,ooo troops now. The decision is getting easier. Some squadrons of B25s stage back to northern fields to resume offensive operations. RAAF squadrons are either in late model P40s or Spitfires now. I have some Aussies sitting outside an empty Daly Waters with an IJA flag flying above the post office. The western desert remains quiet. USS Washington begins a quick two week refit as the Fletchers finish up their first.

Burma: The IJA force moving north from central Burma is getting larger as three more units join the IJA armor.

China: I need the IJA to lose a battle and bleed some, the Chinese are hurting.

February 10, 1943

There are two major actions today. The area now known as the Sian pocket in China and central Burma. Ninety percent of time now is planning. My office depot calculator is taking a beating.

SoPac: There are IJN surface forces steaming north of Ndeni, I cannot get a good spot on them.

SwPac: I order a large raid on PM for tomorrow. I'll try to get at the ground forces again. AF damage at 75%, port at 100%. P38s ordered to sweep Lae. Large quantities of ammo and fuel reach Australia. I should be fine for offensive operations in the spring. D-Day New Guinea will now be referred to as "Mohawk". D-Day officially postponed till the last week of March. My IL for the landing will increase from 12,ooo (troop) to 60,ooo. I have to take advantage of this. It's only four weeks.

NorPac and CenPac remain quiet. SoPac: Recon begins for IJ units on bases south of Ndeni. More fuel reaches the Fiji's along with vast quantities of supplies. China: IJA units trapped from the summer offensives are hunted down along the foothills of the Himalayas. The Sian pocket gets tighter. 20th group army is in deep trouble behind IJ lines. The Chinese attempt to close ranks around Chungking.

F4Us sweep Ndeni, no action. Heavy bombing continues in the Sian pocket. 20th army group almost cornered. No sign of IJN activity anywhere.
