I know leaders start with a set skill set, but through experience do they increase in skill areas like pilots or overall experience like LCU's?

They do increase, but slowly. I'd have to look at the history of each in tracker, but I know some of the remaining KB group leaders are VERY strong now. Only up a few points in each category, but over 60, some areas over 70 in the categories that matter.

If you watch Tracker, you'll see it. Bascially I see 1 - 2 leaders each week pick up a point or two in most stats. So itdefinitely happens.

Do they have to be assigned to have upgrades?

Do the promotions alter what a leader can command?

Not absolutely sure, but yes, i think you have to have leader assigned to get improved stats, chasing skirts from home will dont learn you in military things.
And yes, leaders rand definitely affect units which he can lead, mere ship captain cant command cv task force, and if he get lucky and get promoted to admiral, well he will lead CVs TF, but well, he will never ever comand single ship again.

Obviously. Skill upgrades and promotions only happen if the Leader is used.

No. All you get is some better numbers on the Leader board.

None of this will ever be changed so take what is and deal with it.

John,

Thanks for confirming. I was pretty sure this was the case, but always nice to have it confirmed.

Thanks for the reply. I have been playing since AE birthed, but was never aware that leaders could/do improve, so that is a nice
surprise.

AE has continued to be the best investment on the dollar I've ever made game wise, and that is something that even makes tart replies
happily easy to deal with!

Thanks to all for the great info. This game continually amazes me with the things it does that aren't readily apparent. The game designers were freakin' geniuses.
