RE: How to Play Multi-Player Today
Teamviewer allows remote control of the other computer. That may present security issues to many.
OTOH, assuming you don't hit annoying internet lag time issues and are happy with the security controls and/or the degree of trust you share with your opponent, then possibly you can skip having to send the game files back and forth.

Ya we pretty much limit our teamviewer to return to base, and prod phases where it's a pain sending the saved files back and forth.

Firmir in Germany and I in California, have used Teamviewer successfully for 3 sessions so far. We use Ventrilo for voice communication. We are up to March April 1940.
We have found because of the issues with production and resource lending, its become a better choice to let the allied player have the save at Stay at Sea phase. The AI is still not to be trusted to send resources reliably and all the convoys have to be checked that they dont return to base. Yes, this has happened and we had to find the save and reload. Especially if lending all sorts of hijacking can happen. As can be seen in the tech support forum with the USA, China and France. Japan is not sending BP to USA from the beginning. We just accept it.
1 issue of supply in China required a reload.
Also USentry dierolls that do not result in a pull, are sometimes shown and sometimes not. Example, Bessarabia is claimed, AI rolls die, none shown whether if not successful. Taking a Chinese city, Die roll comes up no matter what the result.
So far other than those above we have not had any serious game stopping issues. The future remains to be seen.
The player who is observing voices his instructions as needed. Depending on background noise, push to talk or open mike is used. I have noticed if push to talk is active, i can click the map after push to talk and it stays open until i actively close the mic.
We are playing 1.1.6.2
When is the next certified patch coming out?

Teamviewer works well. Especially for the moments where the non-phasing player needs to do a reaction. Stay at Sea and Return to Base, is a must send file to Allied player. The screen lagg is a killer.ORIGINAL: Zorachus99
This method has been working well for us. I've saved all the impulses, so I'm considering making some AAR, but it would be a lot of work, which at this moment I don't have time for.
If anyone comes up with a better method, let me know.
I can't say every impulse has been saved in our current game. I'm also thinking of putting together an AAR. The obstacle trying to get my head around is the size of it. Playing all of the allies and trying to organize it all into an easily digested format. Is not simple.
Thinking of just focusing on one theater of war. China/Pacific, West/Med Front, East Front. Currently my top pick is China/Pacific and the USentry growth. Like you setting aside some time is an obstacle in itself.
Good to read your game is going well. We are also looking forward to the supply update. Less reloading of supply issues is a good thing.

Also rather than emailing, we use dropbox.. you can get a fair amount of space for free.

This is a good idea. We don't email, but instead send the file to each other with Skype.
We just use the File transfer option with Teamviewer.

I've learned supply is potentially never going to be fixed. Option 47, unmentioned in the books, is not going to be implemented.
It is mentioned, as an optional supply rule "Isolated reorganization limits." See 9.6.5, page 173, Players Manual Volume 2. It's just not implemented, yet, along with several other optional rules. Isolated units are still out of supply, so supply is not exactly "broken" in a show-stopper sense. So, reconsider and be a little more patient.

No need to remove. This post still has valid information for using Teamviewer.
