No going back in time like a wayback machine. You are born in those times without knowledge of the future. But with an emphasis on what you'd like to be if you had grown up in those times.

That was actually considered a very important position, only open to nobles. Even royal waste was divine.

I would most likely been a serf, but if I was to have a job like I have today, I guess I would be driving a cart around.

A job means getting a regular wage, I doubt most "jobs" back then would have included anything monetary. Maybe a roof over ones head and bread and water.

Most of us would be doing dirty work, due to the fact that we that we would have not enjoyed any schooling. How many of "our coloured members" would have been slaves?

It is nice to think we would have a fancy life, doing nice work, if we have to any. I think on my side, if I am honest, I would probably be wearing a red jacket and taking the kings sovereign. Maybe "working" in India or the Americas.

Anyways (not that I am trying to burst your bubble), the world was overwhelmingly rural AND small. Small communities whose members sometimes never left their parish. A nearby town 30 km away was de facto the end of the world to the overwhelming population.

Those of you who know small communities (I do) are aware of this: it's hard to keep a secret in a village.

And finally who are you going to rob? There was nothing to rob as everyone was utterly miserable [:D]

They already know where they should hunt you: you are NOT living in a small rural community (a peasant), as the 95% of the population. You are hiding in woods and mountains... The aforementioned device will be put to good use and innocent members of the rural community might tell what are your whereabouts. Because again, it's hard -if not impossible- to keep a secret in small communities. And every member of the community (despite the fact they might never visit the closest town) knows every inch of their small word.
