Hi all,

RGR Martin!

BTW, that would be diesel locomotive technician - right?

P.S.
No jobs in civil aviation maintenance (British Airways and such)? I would have thought that such jobs are quite well paid...

Yes, there are several depots within a couple of hours of where I live currently, hopefully the work will still be there in a couple of years.

As far as civil aviation goes, there are jobs out there. But I won't get the same level of responsibility/initiative as I have now. It's a backup plan, but not much more than that currently.

Best wishes and fingers crossed Martin!

Bummer. I just got an email from ImageShack and they have eliminated their free service. The email actually read that my 30 day free trial had ended. [:D]

Gonna have to find a new place to host pictures for posting, etc.

Edit: Apparently, I can still login and keep the currently hosted pictures there, but I need a premium account to upload anything new.

Nine years of Boy Scouts, sleeping on the ground, winter camping, scout camps in torrential rain etc. Finally, the kid gets his Eagle. Plus he's getting into his teen years where girls, gas and...more gas...are just as important as going camping every weekend.

Nine years!
And this weekend momma goes out & buys a camper for "the family"

Congratulations to your young man. Mine is going to get his Life in the next three months if I don't kill him first. Hopefully he will get to Eagle before the smell of gasoline and perfume distract him .

And, the camper purchase sounds timely! [:D]

Yep, along the lines of closing the gate after the barn has burned down, wreckage bulldozed away, and the framework for a new one put up [:'(]

Hi all,

I am just in my long sleeve short at work right now with open window... [:D]

Yesterday we had officially the hottest day in March ever recorded in documented meteorological history here (150+ years) with 25 degrees Centigrade... [8D]

And I saw that there are 20+ cm of snow in Washington DC in USA... my cousin is in Richmond near-by...

I had best not be coming down with a cold now that spring so close.

Right in the middle of a complex setup in a switch, my new laptop died. No warning, no indicator, no flash...just poof. I was so mad I could chew neutronium Thing is only 24 hours old! In the middle of my tirade an office worker comes along & points out my power brick's 2 connections ( and why on earth do I need a plug on those?) was disconnected. Battery died [8|] My old XP laptop would have a little battery warning, and then would go into hibernate. This new 8.1 it just goes home. So here I sit letting it charge, & wishing for The Good Old Days. I'm torn between being humilated that I lost my cool over something so obvious I missed it, or wishing Microsoft would come down with a flea infestation for developing such a POS.

Yep, even a little glaze of ice and freezing rain here overnight. Just enough to make the bridges slippery and to cancel school for the day. We're about 275 km south of Richmond.
