One has to wonder, if Russia has any intention of invading mainland Ukraine...what are they waiting for? Lets hope they don't, but all they are doing right now is giving Ukraine more time to prepare defenses. Russia's intentions seem to indicate they plan on coming in and some believe Russia does want Kiev. Time will tell.

Reuters reports that an army base in Simferopol has been attacked, with one soldier wounded.

The BBC's rolling commentary states that one Ukrainian officer was killed.

Question for everyone:

Are you aware of any other digital game that has simulated current events and what-ifs in the Ukraine crisis theater-wide, like Command?

If yes, links are most welcome!

I don't know any game simulating current events in Ukraine but there's one about to be released.

It's a new Combat Mission, a kind of sequel to Combat Mission Shock Force. There's a topic on their official forum asking for a name (for this new game) and other topics about this new episode (development of this game started far before current events).

CM Shock Force was already ahead of his time because it was about the war in Syria, but released in 2007.
Of course they're not using a crystal ball to know what will be the next conflict.
You just have to read the right books and listen to the right people.
For exemple, Zbigniew Brzezinski wrote an interesting book, about geostrategy and what USA have to do to remain a superpower. Ukraine was a key to achieve it.
After 9/11 events, Wesley Clark (US general) declared that 7 contries had to be invaded (to save freedom and democracy of course). Among those countries were Irak, Libya, Egypt, Syria ...
You can find those documents quite easily.

Turkey Warns Russia it Will Blockade Bosphorus if Violence Occurs

The threat to close the Bosphorus to Russia comes from a report by Hvylya, citing a Turkish diplomatic source. According to the source, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan yesterday spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the phone and warned of the consequences for conflict with Ukraine. The Hvylya source was also reported on by UNIAN.

Gotta say Putin is a smart man.....evilly smart. Angela Merkel of Germany has a fear of dogs.....this once so happen to happen during one of their meetings. Check out the grin on Putin. He knows what's up.
He seems like the kinda guy who would sell out his own children to get what he wants for Russia.
To be fair Putin has had the dog many years and goes with him everywhere.

the old game from the mid 90's iM1A2 BY iMagic had a campaign set in Ukraine fighting against russia - i remember the game also had a theorised version of a T-95 tank in the campaign and it was tough as it had an extremely low profile and very small turret

Ukrainian Navy HQ has been taken over. Re:yesterday's shooting - one Russian soldier, one Ukrainian officer dead from allegedly sniper fire. The alleged perpetrator was later caught - a 17-year old male.

Isn't violence in Ukraine just the thing Russia wants to officially put "Peace Keepers" on the ground? I mean... to put real "flag on shirt" wearing soldiers there? To "assist".

Seems like Crimea is either already lost... one side(either one) is about to send in "peace keepers" and start a war...

No source, that's why I said "alleged". The detainee comes from the Lviv region, could be a conflation of two episodes or simply propaganda. The 13th photogrammetric center in Simferopol was stormed yesterday. The shooting took place on Kubans'ka vulitsya, around N44.97421 E34.14967.

With Kazakhstan border is completely open . President of Kazakhstan is equal policy . He with all countries good relations with Russia , the U.S., China. They have a high level of corruption, but the economy is satisfactory . Kazakhs little travel to Russia for work. This is a good sign. Kazakhstan has a major problem - southern neighbors . There really worrying situation . For this reason, Kazakhstan moved its capital to the northern border . Therefore , I hope that the new president of Kazakhstan will continue a neutral policy . Then Kazakhstan will not be difficulties.

There are two options :
1. Misunderstanding ( someone lost his nerve , probably) . Warehouses with arms locked. But some of the weapons was the Ukrainian soldiers guarding their territory units . Maybe there was a conflict between the Russian and Ukrainian soldiers.

2 . Provocation by Ukrainian nationalists. They practically are not controlled.

The worst : the nationalists are not happy with the government. They plan to continue rioting . Ukrainian police demoralized . Soon to be new presidential elections . All candidates do not unite voters. Most importantly - they are not able to improve the country's economy. I recall the original reason Maidan - the fight against corrupt government . That do not reduce economic difficulties. Circle. Only the population of a lot of weapons looted military depots .

Most officials sabotaging orders Ukrainian government. Continue to execute contracts with the Russian military enterprises. Murky waters here, am afraid. With 13 Security Council votes against Russia, it is hard to devise any "False Flag" type operation to exculpate Russia.
