China
Some poor attacks and some poor planning have left some of my troops potentially vulnerable near Chungking.
Elsewhere, attacks continue to weaken the Chinese.
Noticed that where I trapped 11 units near Tienshui there are now only 9. Isolation is very effective.
See map and legend below.

B-17 hit Fenton.
Australian troops have entered the Fenton hex in force.

IChang to 8, don't really need it now as the front has moved on! It does free up some aviation support to redeploy. Kweiyang to 5, will keep pushing this.

Ki-44-IIc to 5/43.
China Map
The white numbers are the number of Allied units present.
At "A" I attacked and drove the defense back. I had 3 Recon regiments and an infantry brigade on reserve
(pursuit). I expected the defense to fall back to "X" and to be able to pursue across the river. If,
instead, they fell back East I expected my armour would not be able to pursue them the full hex and I could then redirect them across the river. What has happened is the recon units are now stuck in hex "B" and the infantry is half way there and will take 6 more days to arrive. Recon reports 50000 Chinese in the hex so, even without supplies, he probably will attack and smash my recon regiments. Most, if not all, of the Chinese are units that have been defeated and retreated at least once so are probably not in the best of shape.
At "C" I attacked hoping to drive the defense back and open the road to "B", but the defense turned out to be 3 strong corps and the air strikes had done little damage.

At "D" I have been bombarding retreating forces and inflicting heavy losses on the Chinese each turn
Allied ground losses:
1219 casualties reported
Squads: 62 destroyed, 2 disabled
Non Combat: 13 destroyed, 0 disabled
Engineers: 5 destroyed, 0 disabled
Guns lost 4 (4 destroyed, 0 disabled)
At "E" I have moved two weak units and a HQ into the hex. If they had arrived before the Chinese they could move up to "D" and then a division be set back from "D" to block the 10 units retreating. However, they entered at the same time as the Chinese. If the Chinese attack my troops will not do well, but he doesn't have recce so may not realise how weak they are. Depending what he does, it is still possible I can trap the 10 units.
