Warsprite, Warspite, they almost have the same number of letters. Must be a sister ship. [8D]

One is a fairy (sprite) and the other is mean (spite). So I think both names could be right, the ship is just a mean fairy [:D]

I think general Patton is referring to the infamous RN Softdrink class.

BB Warsprite, Battlecoke and Siegepepsi. There was another ship planned IIRC, Strikingredbull. But that one gave wings and was redesignated an aeroplane...

That's alright then. You can insult me - but not the Grand Old Lady.... if you know what's good for you. Know what I mean? [8D]

This is much less amazing when you realize it's just warspite1 hitting F5 every 10 seconds to counter any potential insult to that old ugly tuna can immediately. [:'(]

Lest we forget...here is the end of Warspite.
Better to have gone down surrounded by enemies, with all guns blazing.

Carl Spackler: So I jump ship in Hong Kong and I make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas.
Angie D'Annunzio: A looper?
Carl Spackler: A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga ga-sportwar... gunga, gunga-la-warsport ..sprite.. or something like that.

So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive the gift of total torpid incontinence." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
