So, what suggest you? If we add new units in any case you have trouble i think.
Anyway i prepare the bitmap with turret where needed, than you can cut and paste what is double but ,for example, without the separated turret.
In this way you must not renumber what already numbered.OK?
Maitrebongo is flooding us with new units but i think that we must use the most important.
Understood Maitrebongo? The last German units posted are important,i don't know if is useful to use all the series PSW 234 .Probably a to big work but i want also your opinion.

OK guys, let us have a break.

For your information, if I go so fast it is because I collect the graphics since of long years with the aim of the release of such a game with such possibilities of modding.

Of what I think :

I think that "Heroes of Stalingrad", with its possibilities of modding, is the game which could become the "Steel Panthers" game (or the virtual "Advanced Squad Leader") of the 21th century.
And, as for its illustrious predecessor, this game owes to be the most complete as possible.
Remember that with this game's system, it is possible to feign more or less any battle in the tactical scale of any conflicts of the humanity's history (and of its future).
That is why I propose a system of packs (or of modules) which would cover a given period.
This would allow the other creators to have a stock of counters to draw from it inside.

It is a big responsibility for us to begin well the work, so that those who will come behind can work on good bases.

But let us return to the subject which interests us : the eastern front.

I think that as this game is a game of skirmishes, it is necessary to be able to give the possibility of feigning any fights and in this case it is necessary to be able to model any equipment used at that time.
Sure, it can seem boring, but we can begin with basic packs and enrich them as one goes along.

At the moment, your work in both is great, let us continue in this spirit.

I agree with you,we can do a complete eastern mod.The German than are used also for others front. The only unit a little bit difficult to include is the 232rad.This unit have the radar over the turret so is difficult to do a turret that moves without moving also the radar.I think that this unit is not so important into the game.
Good job Maitrebongo!
I hope to finish at least the German before Easter, because after i must go away for job and for 10 days.

made full countersheets for all those above for ss,guard, soviet.+german using bongos stuff

will put all of it in csv tomorrow night

put some more in if possible then put out new counter pack by sunday

I agree with you,we can do a complete eastern mod.The German than are used also for others front.

To make a complete eastern front pack, we need to include axis minors : Italia, Romania, Finland... I'm working on units of this nations wich could used on others front too (You were not able to fail see that Rumanian were already there).

I think that "Heroes of Stalingrad", with its possibilities of modding, is the game which could become the "Steel Panthers" game (or the virtual "Advanced Squad Leader") of the 21th century.

I am going to explain what I really think.

"Steel Panthers" is certainly the best tactical computer wargame of all times (Readers of "The wargamer.com" moreover elected it "Wargame of the century"). For my part, I began to play it in 1992 and I always play it.
I'm sure (i hope so) you played tons of games of this great tittle.

But it suffers from two major gaps : Prehistoric graphics and the impossibility to play online multiplayer's games.
These two handicaps will never find solutions because of the initial design of the game engine.
Although it games became a reference on this subject, although source codes are public, although an enormous community bends above, this game is condemned in the short term for these two reasons.

Long time ago, I redid all the pawns of the game, but any graphic work on this system is extremely difficult and the result will always be below our expectations.
I always have the wish that talented designers of games can completely redo the system of "Steel Panthers" to solve these two problems, but I think that's to us to seize the opportunity which is offered by "Heroes of Stalingrad" to make my/our dream a reality.

It is for these reasons that I think that we must be the most perfect possible, because small errors at first can have enormous consequences in a few years.

I think that this game is not so sophisticated like Steel Panthers or ASL,
and this could be an advantage. From the other side seem more easy to translate ASL scenarios in HoS than in Steel Panthers. The graphics is absolutely the best seen until now in a 2D game. For the moment we have the non little problem of the LOS from different levels.

Thank you Maitrebongobut are useful for Africa[:D]
For the moment i post theGerman bitmap and turret because i think we have enough units to reproduce all the main scenarios. The counters with the flame(flampanzer)need to be completed with the flametrower to hit table and than Jonj must understand if is possible to use them into the play.
The turret are only the type not included in the game.Pz3 j and L need the long gun.Pz4 F2 H and J also.the same for psw 234 2 and 4.All the others the short.
the Pz4 F2,if i'm not wrong,is in the original game.
Jonj tell me if the turret work or not.
All the to hit table are the same for the same type of gun.The type of gun is the same reported in ASL.For example an Hetzer have the same gun of the Pz4 F2 75mm long.
In any case if there is something wrong at the moment i'm here.
In the next days i hope to do something Russian.
