3rd Allied Impulse:

Actions:
The turn will likely end after this impulse (70%)
USSR - Land
CW - Land
US - Land
Fr - Land

Strat Bombing:
CW rolls a 2 on a bombing mission over Brussels. No effect.

Ground Strikes:
The US has three pretty good ARTY divs in France, and uses all three to attack the most vulnerable German hex in France. If they get lucky and hit all three, it will be a nice +5 modifier for any attack.

Things are stagnant in Western Europe and they need to get things moving.

This doesnt help. I learned here that even though the ARTY doesnt show that its affected by weather and forest, it is.

3rd Allied Impulse:

Rail Moves:
USSR rails three units to the rear
CW rails Gort quickly to the Spanish mountains to support the Allied units up there.

Land Moves:
In Spain, The western Allies push a little further, oozing into the gaps in the Axis lines, but overall not much change, and no attacks.

In Russia, the Soviets are able to use the better movement during snow to evacuate many units far into the rear. A small stack of two 5-strength units is unable to move far and are in danger of being attacked outside of Gorki, but most other troops were able to move fully.

Notice GARR in the two cities to waste the Axis' time.

After the Allied moves, they really hoped the turn would end (70%).. but they rolled an 8. Axis get another go.

3rd Axis Impulse:

Actions:
Now an 80% chance to end the turn if no one passes

Germany - Land
Italy - Combined
Japan - Combined

Naval Air:
Italy puts a NAV out to the Black Sea

Naval Moves:
Japan makes two naval moves to pick up Yamamoto and Marines from Calcutta and three corps from Vladivostok for repositioning at the end of the turn. Japan likely will want to reinforce Manila.

Italy picks up a MECH corps from Beirut.

Ground Strikes:
One strike, in Russia. Italy and Germany combine on a strike on two Soviet units in clear terrain. The German bomber is at extended range, but rolls a 1 and ends up disorganizing 1 of 2

3rd Axis Impulse:

Rail Moves:
Italy rails a FTR from Russia to Spain
Germany rails three broken down DIVs, from Greece to Russia.
Japan rails a 5-5 MOT from Vladivostok to the Russian interior

Land Moves:
Update on how things look as Japan tries to invade Russia. Also notice that a Russian DIV was able to sneak into a Russian city and retake it to the East. Pesky guys.

3rd Axis Impulse:

Land Moves (continued):
Haven't shown India in a bit. Japan keeps making gains, but doesn't have the air power to really push each turn. Next turn, they'll try another shot with their ARTY and hope to create a good combat situation. But otherwise they are fine with the status quo for now.

3rd Axis Impulse:

Land Moves (continued):
With an unexpected impulse the Axis wasn't counting on taking, Germany wants to make the most of it.

They launch three high-odds attack on the trailing Soviet units. One attack is only a +8 but if a prior attack goes well in the order, it will improve due to one of the units being reduced to a 1 factor.. We'll see how it goes

At Penza, USSR, the Axis attacks at an automatic to take the 'hero' defender. This unit did its job and will be rebuilt ASAP.

3rd Axis Impulse:

Land Combat (continued):
Because of the victory at Gorki, these units are now OOS, increasing the odds for the Axis to over +16. Germany chooses the Blitz table.

They don't get the fractional, but roll a 9, for a max result. Two more Soviet units are destroyed.

The Axis, as expected, ended the turn with a 1. Here are the losses for the turn. Mostly USSR, but some CW from a battle in India, and Japanese from the loss of Davao in the Phillipines.

Sorry!!

That are things I've heard before. I tend to take the wrong shirt out of the closet to go with the trousers also. I think things are OK but the wife corrects me a lot...

Mar/Apr 1943

Beginning of Turn Phase:

Initiative:
Axis rolls a 12. Allies roll a 10. Axis wins and chooses for the Allies to go first. The theory here is that many of the Soviet forces are OOS in Russia and the weather will likely be bad in the Arctic so letting the Soviets go first will not be that helpful for them, and allows Germany to have their +2 initiative bonus into the next two summer turns.

Weather:
Roll of 6 puts rainy weather across Europe. Soviets will have some supply issues getting their forces back, which should allow the Axis to get some easy kills as forces are strung back to the rear.

Actions:
USSR - Land
CW - Naval
US - Naval
Fr - Land

seems the only issue is Germany which blends into both USSR and US. I'll put up some new colors for Germany and see if theres a color I like that is more differentiated..

some tests. Here is a German Gray.

The German air are the old color which you couldn't differentiate. How do the land units now look in comparison to the US stuff (left), and USSR stuff (center)
