TOF vs Time of Wrath

Time of Fury spans the whole war in Europe and gives players the opportunity to control all types of units, ground, air and naval. Not only that, each player will be able to pick a single country or selection of countries and fight his way against either the AI or in multiplayer in hotseat or Play by E-Mail. This innovative multiplayer feature will give player the chance to fight bigger scenarios against many opponents, giving the game a strategic angle that has no equal in the market. The game uses Slitherine’s revolutionary PBEM++ server system.

'Time of Fury' has additional features, combining the progress in 'Storm over the Pacific' giving more naval detail, but there are still some abstract functions, which means that it hasn't yet reached a full naval simulation to add to the air/land action. There is however great depth in the information and reports available, with the unit management box giving easily accessible detail on all the units.

The manual does not explain all these features fully and there is a lot here to be discovered.

I just played a game of Time of Wrath and I actually like the graphics better than Time of Fury, However, when I compare to Battlefront's Global Conflict, I actually like the naval component better in Global Conflict.

Time of Wrath has minimal naval content, which I quite liked, because as the ground commander you pass your troops on to the navy and there is not much you can do until they reach the destination and come back under your command. This is quite realistic, whilst Time of Fury is more ambitious and gives some control in at least organising naval operations, even if a lot of the action is abstracted and there is still the AI convoy routing problem.

Time of Fury is still a firm favourite despite the problems, alongside Commander Europe at War - Grand Strategy Mod 3.0, which is good for a quicker playing session when time is short. [:)]
