combat?

Piercing Fortress Europa is a new game from veteran game designer Frank Hunter, which covers the campaigns of the Western Allies from July, 1943 through the end of April, 1945 in Sicily and Italy. Each area has its own map and time scale to best represent the campaigns for Sicily and Italy and the player is offered complete freedom, limited only by a historical order of battle and logistics model, to plan his operations and explore all of the many “what ifs” that the Italian theater has to offer.

Also, how did the Brit strength go from 17 to 18?

I've been playing the Southern Italy scenario as Germans against the AI, and it seems to be acting OK?

Maybe the Sicily campaign is odd.

The numbers in parenthesis are the losses taken by that particular unit.

The "Final Strength" can be higher than the troop strength as its the strength after all modifiers are applied and that can result in a strength greater than 100%.

The "Ground Support 1/1" means the Allies had a single ground support point assigned to that battle and it produced 1 hit on the Axis.

Thank You! What's your take on the above combat results?

I found the problem, its a bug and I feel terrible about it. The bug was introduced in code to deal with the issue where 5 British units that couldn't retreat were forced to surrender. The issue is the Italian coastal unit is eliminated and that possibility isn't being checked for. Not sure if this bug would ever be visible in the other scenarios but it certainly appears in Sicily.

I still don't care for the combat module! Every attack has the result Attack Failed, but many times the winner (defender) retreats? It don't just seem right! This is with the Gustav Line scenario against the Allied AI.

Also in this scenario, I have two German Panzer Brigades stuck around their entry point Out of Supply? According to the supply overlay they are drawing from Rome? It doesn't make sense? And yes I have fuel. The other units in the Southern part of Italy can move?

Hi Treale, although it says the defender has won the battle the units themselves could still have disruption levels causing their retreat. The only difference being the attacker doesn't get to advance. Its possible for both sides to be incapable of continuing the battle and in those cases the defender is considered to "win". The attacker has to win outright.

Which two German panzer brigades are those?

27 & 28 Brigades. And why would supply come from Rome and not a supply source closer? I would have to re-read the supply rules for German supply sources? During rain turns the supply overlay shows 0 supply in those Northern hexes and it shows Rome as the supply source?

For some reason none of your northern cities are providing supply. I started a new run of that scenario and Verona and Bologna and Florence are all supply sources. Do you have a save from the first couple of turns?

If you could send me them, starting with 29 that would be great. I'd like to check if those cities were out of supply at-start or if something occurred.

Do you want me to put them all in a ZIP file?
