Hi all,
ORIGINAL: jwilkerson

Mike Scholl passed away this weekend after a 9 month battle with cancer.

I met Mike in June 1983 in Richmond, where we played the first (SPI) WITP multi-player game with the "National Monstergaming Society". Mike and I have been playing Monster Games, both board and computer ever since. We were about to start a new game and debating the pros and cons.

I talked to him Friday (18 April) and he did not seem stressed or sound any different. We do not know the cause of death.

Yes Mike was our "resident AFB" during WITP/AE development, he was also one of our top three "bug finders" and so he contributed to this community as much as anyone.

He is survived by a sister. He was 65 years old.

Oh my God... [:(]

I am very sad... fair winds Mike...

Fair winds and following seas, Mike. Here's hoping that an outrigger full of South Pacific Island girls awaits you at your destination!

My initial report was in error, there are two surviving sisters, not one.

Mike's mother passed away last year, before he was diagnosed with cancer.

RIP. If only all the countries in the world devoted 10% of their defence spending towards a cure then it would soon be a thing of the past.
