Replacements On or Off?

Post by Catterick »

Think I've done a screw-up, only against the AI luckily

I looked at a few post on first turns and they recommended playing with Replacements set to Off. So, I did this and now 10 turns in and just realised I never set any unit replacements to ON [:D]

So, any recommendations which theatres or even units, need to have replacements on and are there any I should leave as Off

I don't mind going back several turns, it will just be a bit frustrating

On a related topic, I'm assuming setting replacements for PI or Malaysia planes isn't a great idea?

Depending what you plans, easy way is to save all your plane and troop and defend strongly then in burma, australia and south pacific. Although the challenge is to stop the jap in DEI or solomons island even if it's hard.

In a pbem, for fun I recommend to try to defend DEI but it's a choice.

That early in most of those places it doesn't matter. You don't have the supply piles needed to draw them anyway. And you're running for your life.

Only 10 turns into the game, you're fine without having turned any replacements on as the Allies - no need to go back and replay any turns. As to recommendations, everyone has their own ideas and priorities depending on play style and goals, but I'll give you one or two.
1. You have plenty of replacements for most of your US units. Turn on replacements for some of the unrestricted ones. No need to turn on replacements for the restricted ones, since this will only make them more expensive to buy out (the larger they are, the more PP they cost.)
2. Do not turn on replacements for many Commonwealth units. Replacement rates are low, and you'll want to be very selective.
