I forgot to stand down a Spitfire unit. It sweeps Gasmata and finds 236 Jap fighters on LRCAP. We lose 4 Spits for 12 Georges, 6 Tojos, 10 Oscars and 4 Franks. Recon shows 396 fighters at Rabual. After seeing what he had on LRCAP I am thinking of sending in some sweeps. Port has 22 ships in it. I have 36 F4s, 50 P 47s, 40 Hellcats, 16 Spits, 16 P 38s in the area. I can fly in more in a day of my best fighters. I have a bunch of P40s and such in the area. I have Umboi Island. I can LRCAP those P40s for the bombers and as escorts. I saying this as I am thinking of attacking. I figure that most of his planes will either be resting or be high on fatigue. Am I wrong. I know there is more than a hundred more fighters. In the past he has had squadrons training or resting. I might be wrong. I know I am behind and might be rushing things. Let me know if I am rushing.

RE: Attention to orders
If you think you are rushing, you are. I will use an evening from time to time, thinking sans computer, it helps, new perspective as it were.
RE: Attention to orders
I thought about my last post, I feel pressed for time as well. I tried to think further than 60 days ahead. It has been so long since I could afford the luxury. While Japan still wields a big sword, I am beginning to dictate the time and location of battle, except in besieged China. It helped a lot. I got a lot in motion. I foresee a summer of rapid expansion of the front line trace while building a huge logistic tail complete with three major supply depots. I have been careful of aircraft pools and capital ships since my debacle off Tabiteuea and Baker Island. I hope by backing off a little he will become more concerned about where I am coming from. He is already searching empty islands around the map.
RE: Attention to orders
First off I have a new XO Ava joined our ranks on 5/6/14.

Troop movements. Japs get away from us on the road east of Taung Gyi. A fresh Jap ID sneaks into the stack south of Taung Gyi.
Timor AO
I have tried for several weeks of the game to get some troops onto the Kaileen Kai (spelling) Island, east of Samulaki. Koniu has always spotted them or had a SAG close by. Now I have my amphib TF 6 hexs away. They will go in tomorrow. Everything should be unloaded in the next turn. Its only an Inf BDE and a small Tank unit. Last turn a 3 CA SAG swept Lautem. It is currently sitting at Ambon. LRCAP is in place. Several SAGs will be in the area. 1 Fletcher TF will be on patrol with the amphib TF.
Gilberts
I have another amphib TF going to Tabiteau(sp). One of the TFs has a 1/0 sighting. I figure its just a signet thing and not a plane sighting. But I am pulling the ships back.
Solomons
We attack 2 small dot bases. We sink 3 AMcs and a PB.
Subs
We sink a small tanker off the coast of Japan. We chew up 2 different subs up in NorPac. Jap Air ASW are damaging subs around the Timor AO.

Thanks Guys. The birth was great for a first timer. First contraction was at 0010, she started pushing at 0830 and Ava was here at 1008. No issues at all. Turns have been kinda slow right now do RL issues. I have started an AI game and have gotten into it. She sits in daddy's arms I play.

She was 7.1 lbs and 19.5 in

Not much action.
We land on Kai-eilanden. One IR, tank unit, and an RAN BF. We are opposed by a Nav Guard unit. We should take the island tomorrow. A DA has been ordered. Japs are upset for not seeing this invasion TF. They have missed other TFs. I hope that he sends his cruisers after my TFs. I am withdrawing the amphib TF. Supplies will be low, but I can't risk the ships. Supply ships are at sea now. A DD TF will remain on station with some 36 PT boats. Subs are patrolling the waters all around the island. CVE TF is close by hoping for some action. I have other SAGS around waiting to pick up any jap ships that might attack. I also see that bombers are now at Ambon.
Gilberts
My TFs have yet to be sighted. We might get lucky. They have pulled back and will see what happens.

I'm attacking with 5 IDs and 2 tank units.

He bombed some of my troops.
Timor AO
I sent a 3 DD SAG to Ambon. I wasn't for sure what he had their. Now I know. 4 CAs and 7 DDs. We lose 2 DDs and barely damage his. What I am thinking about doing is: bring my CVEs up and set them for Nav Attack. I have 200 fighters and 70 bombers (half DB and TB). I would also sweep Ambon, hoping to get some sweeps in before the naval strike went in. Recon shows 130 fighters. I know he has some Franks (I think some are shot up pretty bad now) Georges, and Tojos. I would also send in my 4E after his runway. I have over 300 (LBA) top of the line fighters ready to go. Yes I figure I will take some loses. Possible gains sinking several CAs and DDs, closing the AF and forcing him to move CVs into the area to keep me at bay or letting me run free for a few days.
Solomons
We hit a CM5 500 pounders. Not for sure what it was doing. I see no mines yet, but I do have some PT boats roaming around for them.

RE: Attention to orders
I think I might hold off on the Ambon attack. I am thinking about sending in 5 TFs of PT boats (6 each) into Ambon followed by a Fletcher TF. These would go in during the night phase and during the day I would attack from the air. Moonlight is low 10% and climbing. I'm not for sure if this is a better move or not. Let me know what you guys think. I am going to send the turn out tomorrow morning.
RE: Attention to orders
hi DOCUP,
cheers to your beautiful Ava!
wrt PTs, use high Nav / high Aggro for their flagship commanders, use boats that have the surface radar - early PTs lack radar & need an upgrade.

Bombers refuse to fly against a Jap unit in the open. Fighters sweep and find nothing. Oh well.
Timor AO
We bomb Namlea's AF. I hope that this will make Koniu move some fighters from Ambon to protect this AF. PT boats are in position at Damar. They will make a 6 hex run to Ambon during the night. A Fletcher DD SAG will also make a run to Ambon. None of these will be at flank speed. PT boats won't make it back if I do flank. DDs can but I would like the PT boats to arrive first. PT boats have 2 hex's less to travel than my DDs. Both have the same cruise speed so it might just happen the way I want it. CVE TF has been spotted for several days now. This worries me. He could of moved up some CVs and launch a strike. I want to move my CVEs up a few hex's to get Ambon within 6 hex's, so I can get a strike off. I have no Intel or anything in this area about CVs.
My PTs boats at Damar have been spotted. I don't know if this will make Koniu pull back his ships or what. he could send them to Damar. They will just run into my PT boats, and just maybe hang around for my strike package. Now I'm worried about my CVEs getting pounded by his air power. I'm not that worried about LBA as I am his CVs. Ambon has 130 fighers with 35 bombers. Map uploaded. Time is running out, wife wants to go eat with her parents.
Solomons
We find a mine field. A PT boat sinks from a mine hit.
B29s arrive today. Yay. Koniu sent me an email about them. He has been counting hex's . So No sneak attacks. Lets just see about that. Hong Kong is up for attacks, China isn't.

RE: Attention to orders
Ok. Maybe I am reading to much into this. If I send in my PT boats and DDs. Then the Jap SAG I am after just might retreat out of my range. Then my planes will attack the LBs and other crap that's patrolling Ambon's harbor. Maybe I should just have my DDs go in during the day light hours. Hope that my planes get there first and the DDs clean up what's left.
Or
I should stop thinking about it and go with my original plan.

RE: Attention to orders
PT boats are stood down. DDs are going to make a 12 trip to Ambon. I hope it works. I have 240 planes sweeping with 180 4Es attack the AF and port. 70 Naval bombers will strike from 6 hex's with 150 escorts. I am also sending in 18 2Es low to attack Ambon's AF at night.
