If I may interject a few thoughts here on the subject of a Mega Campaign...
The Mega Campaign is a campaign, a series of battles, ...but MUCH more.
You will take the role of a commander of a moderately sized battle group. You will take your command through a series of battles, all types of battles, from raids, to defending, to attacking, to retreating, to racing the enemy and many more.
The battles stand out because of the variation of them. You won't get bored.
With each battle comes the opportunity to choose alternate situations. You may want to fight the battle, or you may feel some air support might be a good idea. You may feel the need for more tanks and less infantry.
With Mega Campaign you can choose your fight and your forces before you start the battle.
Your victory (or defeat) level will often determine whether you miss a few battles (which costs you points) or if you will detour into another area and then return to the main battle stream.
Twisting routes through the Mega Campaign will insure that you rarely will be playing the same campaign twice. You may or may not.
You will rarely if ever get kicked out. You might wish you would. Defeats hurt you. Stunning victories will help you. (There won't be many of those, I promise!

.
Medals will be given for valorous service.
Articles will be attached outlining the history of the real battle, the why, how and what of the fight.
Your force will grow in experience, though your casualties will mean new green troops will be assigned to replace them.
If the time period calls for it, you will receive upgraded units for your old ones.
A Mark IIIe might become a MarkIIIh, etc.
Your fight might be a small quick play, or you might be part of a larger offensive. You won't know till you get there.
Graphics and maps of the times and areas will further enhance your understanding of the "big picture."
There also exists the possibility of linking whole mega campaigns. For example, my team of 30 is working on North Africa, 1941. At the end of it, you can now be linked to North Africa II, 1942, and then North Africa III, Operation Torch.
The number of battles you fight depend on you. There could be 30 up to 40 in the North Africa Mega Campaign, with all sorts of possibilities.
Each Mega Campaign is combining of role playing with actual historical events. There will be a few hypothetical "what if's" in them but most is based on what really happened.
Now what is being sold is the Mega Campaign. What is being offered as a FREE bonus is the complete updated game, version 5.0, all revised scenarios plus dozens of new ones, probably 170-180 scenarios, and 3 or 4 regular campaigns.
Now THAT my friend is a package, if you enjoy SPWAW that you would not miss, no matter what the cost.
It will represent close to 30,000 man hours of work by some 50 or more individuals working over a period of 18 months.
And we promise we won't gouge your wallet!

I promise you will NEVER again find a bargain like this in the Wargaming genre of play.
So get ready. We are getting close!
