What happens to Partisans ?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

What happens to Partisans ?

Post by GamesaurusRex »

After they fall behind the Russian's lines ? Are they auto disbanded ? What ?
Do they just revert to the replacement pools ? Just curious.

(I tried searching the forum, with no result.)

Thanks in advance.

You need to attack them GR. Otherwise, I can supply them and they blow up RUSSIAN rail lines.

I think Wheat is joking, jwolf...[:D]

My guess is the partisans auto-disband and return their resources to the pool.

AFAIR they are displaced back into axis-controlled hexes in the next logistic phase.

In reality, I believe the Russians would have forced partisans to form up back into the regular army, and there was a real risk of being shot as a deserter. Partisan units were not formed as commando units and dropped behind enemy line but were made up of displaced soldiers and escape POW and civilian resistance. Support was provided to them as well a leadership that could train them, but falling back behind Russian lines was risky. To reflect that, I would supposed disbanding the unit or displacing it father behind axis lines would be equivalent.

As far has historical, few partisan units ever found themselves operating near the front lines until their wasn't any more room to operate(Polish border).

Sorry jwolf. My PsyOps are directed at GamesaurusRex. You were merely collateral damage.
