CAmpaign: changing city

Hi,
What makes you decide to change city ? I'm asking because I don't see any difference between racing here or there ? [&:]

Every city has a category, higher category cities gives you more succulent prizes and fame bonuses, which is the way you gain access to higher category circuses and finally to the Circus Maximus. There is better equipment in higher category circuses also. And every city has their own city bonus, you could see it as a tooltip at the map screen.

OK thanks. And I guess that the chellenge increases (ie. stronger opponents) when competing in a higher category arena ?
Another question: in my campaign I travelled to Macedonnia but I cannot anymore return to Italy where I came from. Why ?

Traveling to another province requires a certain level of local fame, when you first arrive to a province this will be low, so even going back to your previous location will not be available at first
