Lost the sound

I haven't had much time to play lately, because I'm beta-testing another game to be released by Matrix, but I had to get back to this, even if only briefly.

I started a Soviet campaign, after applying the 1.10 upgrade. To my surprise, all sounds were gone. I checked the options, but the settings were not the problem. I rebooted the computer and loaded the game again, but still no sound.

I finished the scenario in silence, but I missed the sound effects. Any idea what might be causing this?
