All air units,Fighters,Bombers & Zeppelins cost more, and ammunition requirements have also been increased, plus they will take longer to build, with increased upkeep, and for the anti- aircraft warfare,Garrisons & Artillery get upgrades now.[:)]
Maybe the reason Bulgaria is not keen on joining the war,is that the Central Power is having a hard time off it,I mean would you join the loosing side or stay neutral?[:D]
Could you give us an idea (stats)(correlations) as to what stops Bulgaria on the march to war? It would help a player to form a strategy on how to avoid this problem. There no warnings built into the game to draw attention to this and similar situations, which can be easily missed, especially if a player "does not know what it is" or "that it even exits".

RE: 1.4.2 PATCH
Hi Bob,
The simple answer is,the better the Central powers are doing in the war,the more likely Bulgaria etc will join the war on their side![;)]
Also if Germany uses Gas warfare first, this will delay Bulgaria joining.

Kirk,
I like what you are doing, the real Ho-Down will be when we actually get to test and play. Personally, would like a closer Amano-Amano CP vs Entente MP match, won't know till the patch is released. With airpower toned down, maybe we can actually have a ground war now.

RE: 1.4.2 PATCH
I would assume that there is some edge that is given the Entente, especially after the US enters the war. After all, the Allied Forces did win the war. To have it a perfect toss up would detract from "historical feel" of the game. What I want as a gamer is the opportunity to do better than one side or the other given the same starting conditions. I realize pure historical accuracy goes out the window at the end of Turn 1, but I want to feel that if I attain a different result it is because of something I did.

RickD,
I was thinking along the same lines as you, played countless SP games, after awhile, play became predictable, of course I was always the winner, relished the victories, but then stagnation started creeping in, the What If's? looked the way to go, to keep things interesting. Resulting in taking up MP challenges, that part of the game also had issues, but found it thoroughly enjoying for a game that did not need a lot of micro-managing. Very seldom venture back to SP and Welcome changes/improvements/enhancements/new ideas that pump life into the game, otherwise it would be like corn on the stalk in November. Getting back to your point; What you want is still there, in a number of versions of the game and may even shift to what you envision as perfect, if perfect is possible.

Yes. CP have hard times. But before last patch there was a problem where Romenia stop their march towards war when Russia surrendered. I was thiking that no matter what all countre enter war at their date... It's fine for me ( I can understand that when things goes wrong other countries doesn't join your side) but in my oppinion this is punnishing already looseing siede. It looks like first year of the war can determine who woll win. BTW in history this war was not going very well for no one and other countries joined fight.
One more thing. Kirk I was thinking that there will be some kind of discussion about air before any changes will be made. What you will do when someone say that he like air as thay are? I think that problem could be resolved by adding upkeep for other counties (no free upkep). Air units are already expenisve so when you will build land force it will block you with fast construction of air fleet. What do you think?

100% agree and this is a point that I and a couple of other have been making for some time. This is a FUN game - yes we want the feel of WWI - but ultimately it should be FUN. This is not a WWI version of WITE or WITP-AE with highly detailed OOB's and it does not pretend to be.
Countries should have their starting dates varied (to allow replayability) but to stop minors entering because your side is losing makes NO sense at all - it just makes certain what was likely and so ends any game earlier. E.g. If I know as the German player what will stop Bulgaria's entry, then as soon as that condition is achieved I might as well throw in the towel.
I really hope this is being changed for the next patch.

Kirk,
I am going to have to chime in with Suprass and Warspite1 on the Minor nations issue. There should not be a hinderance (hindering) on their march to war, because one side or the other is having a few bad turns. Maybe the poison gas issue could stay, I'm a little Iffy on that, however there is strategy to consider as far diplomacy is concerned. I would like to see some form of diplomacy that would (outside the usual actor nations), as we know it today, to go on the "March to War", not necessarily historical, but possible. I don't know why the sinking of CP supply ships does not cause more international outrage?
IMHO, Bob

This is from the game_diplomacy Lua script.
Its the script that manages diplomacy changes at the start on a new turn.
( I HAVE SAID IT BEFORE AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN,I MUCH PREFER GAMES THAT COME WITH AN EDITOR,AND NOT SCRIPTS THAT ARE IN AFFECT, A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO THE AVERAGE PERSON,AND I'M FED UP TRYING TO MAKE HEAD OR TAILS FROM ALL THIS)[:@]

Kirk,
Already had breakfast, coffee, bowl of oatmeal with raisins and French toast. What I see with my "UNTRAINED EYES" is a lot of scrambled eggs in your above post. This afternoon plan on having a ham salad sandwich, glass of milk with cookies, maybe by then I will be able to figure out your post, but I doubt it, however I will enjoy the sandwich and cookies.
Contented, Bob[8|]

First and moust important- I do not blame you for anything! I'm happy that you are giving so much of your pricless time to make this game more fun. I just wanted to say that there is a problem (IN MY OPPINON) and I wan to know what other think about this. I think that this game is good and it need only "cosmethic" changes/fixes. Changing to much will make a new game. If I could make a new patch I would chang only few things- Air fore a little (maybe only upkeep cost), upkeep for sure, minor nations war entry for sure. I would like to see some changes in armour trains and cavalry units (BUT IT IS ONLY MY PERSONAL FEELINGS ABOUT THEM- cavalry usless- to weak, armour trains usless if thay will work as thay work now). Nothing more. This game was done without diplomacy and in my oppinion it should stay without diplomacy. (useing gas should have affect to minor nations entry becouse it work for both sides- who ever use it first gain adventage on field and is punished in "diplomacy"- it's a player's decison to do it or no). Ammo stock is OK for me so no need for changing it. I can live with small garrisons moveing too
What do you think about this guys?

Open,
What I am impressed with is: The use of English (as a 2nd language) by members of the forum. I concur with the first two sentences of Suprass's post. The Entente airforce certainly needs to be "hobbled", and do question in what way would be appropriate? Researched and wrote about this in the MULTIPLAYER thread. Kirk is trying to rectify the imbalance of air power in the game as we know it now (a noble endeavor), plus a multitude of other changes and or fixes included, which is untested (SP_MP) as far as I know. At the same time LZ has asked us to be patient till after the Wargamers show is over, so I would propose for now to do an "Open Beta" before an official patch is released, so members can do diligence in practice to have true impute into what is working and what is not. This next patch (1.50) is not going to be the end of patches, perhaps the beginning of the end of patches.
Just thinking, Bob
