Thinking of giving up also??

Civil War 2 is the definitive grand strategy game of the period. It is a turn based regional game with an emphasis on playability and historical accuracy. It is built on the renowned AGE game engine, with a modern and intuitive interface that makes it easy to learn yet hard to master.
This historical operational strategy game with a simultaneous turn-based engine (WEGO system) that places players at the head of the USA or CSA during the American Civil War (1861-1865).

Thinking of giving up also??

Post by ETF »

OK this is getting frustrated. Never seen this in the past......

I have 2 full 61 Campaign games going with the new patch. Not sure why but every so often "POOF" one game disappears totally from the load game screen!! I then have to dick around and try to make a dummy April 61 game shell and fiddle with trying to copy over my saved files from the most recent game that is still in the save game folder. Sometimes it works sometimes it take 10 to 15 of times fiddling with it to get it to work.

Well just lost my game AGAIN after hours of turns and I just don't have the time or patience to use my technique. Is this happening by any other members playing 2 or more PBEM 61 campaigns? Over wise I think I am putting this amazing game to rest for good. Using 8.0 windows very modern rig.

I have also posted last time when I lost a saved game in the tech forum......no luck there though.

Yeah, using Win 8 is your problem. I use Vista 64 and I don't have any issues at all. Win 8 is like an alien to computer games and they don't work as well as they used to. Now microsoft is forcing us out of WinXP and I'm a lil preturbed at that. It's just milking money out of us now for things we don't really want or need. (Well, I don't need anyways) I keep 3 computers now setup to play my games. 1- Win XP (no longer online because of virus attacks and such), 1- Win Vista 64 and 1 -Win7 32 and 64. I have WIN8 but I hate it so I don't even leave it on one of my computers. I wonder how long before they force us out of Vista and even Win 7.

In Win 8, I set the game to run as Win7 in the compatibility tab on the cw2.exe shortcut.
