DaBigBabes-A, Stock Map, Dec 7 Start

Post by rook749 »

I have an ongoing PBEM game with AirGriff, playing as the Allied side. I was looking at the Navy DBs longing for the days in 45 when I will have enough airplanes for all of my air units when I noticed that after 9/45 I do not receive any replacement DB's is this correct or am I missing something? The last one I see that I get is the SB2C-5 which runs from 6/45 to 9/45.

Air Groups and Aircraft Types are exactly the same as in Stock for all Babes and all BabesLite, A, B, or C. The ONLY thing different from Stock is some of the airplane combat data.

If you are having problems, it's because that's the way EVERYTHING works. [:)]

Well that answers my question [:D]. Make sure if the game goes past September of 1945 to have some dive bombers stockpiled.

Well that answers my question . Make sure if the game goes past September of 1945 to have some dive bombers stockpiled.

If it helps, it's fairly historical. After the Battle of Leyte Gulf, the USN went to torpedo bombers for their performance against larger ships and their superior bomb-load for land targets. For smaller ships, they began to use under-wing mounted rockets.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Makes perfect sense, I assume then I just resize my torpedo squadrons as needed at that point. Will need to make sure that my training program is ready for this..... So much of this game is looking ahead 18 months and knowing what you will need. Amateurs talk about strategy, professionals talk about logistics......

Marine Raider Squads and Marine Para Squads
In my quest to understand the late game before I get there I was looking at squad upgrades. What upgrades to what, which units I should expose to heavier losses - etc and I came across the fact that all of my marine raider and para battalions withdraw - which I know is historical as this manpower was used to form the last Marine Division. What I did not realize was that these squads don't upgrade to anything so any I don't get killed in combat are lost.

Or am I missing something? I am thinking they really should upgrade to the USMC 44 Riffle Squad. Its not a big deal but just a thought from the cheap seats.

In my case the Raider and Para units and now moved into the front lines for all combat operations - boys to the front of the landing craft please.

Well, if we had another year and a half, we would have made every delayed entry reinforcement come in with minimal TO&E and have to fill out from pools (Allies) or manpower and production (Japan). But then we’d have to redo the whole build/pool and production thingy – whoops, add another 9 months or so. Decided it was ok as it was (Whew !!) [:D]

5th Marines comes into game with all of its squads already. So just think of it as the virtual raider and para squads disappearing on one day and then reappearing on another as the virtual NCO component of the magically formed Marine units, without the need for disbandonment to pools, transformation, and then replacement/filling-up. It will help you sleep better. Trust me [8D].

I understand completely [:D] and don't take anything I say as a criticism at all, I love the Mod and have been really enjoying how much it adds to the Pacific War feel. Just trying to figure out how things work a year or two in advance as this is game of logistics and planning like few others.
